Ever notice how Jokic doesn't go to a higher gear if he doesn't need to? Looked like he was playing a pick-up game in Serbia today.

We've actually never seen a small, dynamic PG be the focal point of a champion. Going by the logic above certainly where we exclude Steph from being a dynamic PG. So no, this isn't something Jokic is specifically benefiting from. These players have never determined championships.

Isiah? May not have been the best player but was the team's focal point.

Nobody believes today he drove those championships though. This is just a criticism to be dismissive of Jokic based on a false premise. And its easy to see when he takes the best PG's in the league who are clear PG's (just as Magic, lo and behold a PG who drove winning was a clear PG) .

He's just off base with that tack.

I'm gonna keep banging the "Aaron Gordon most underrated player in the league" drum don't mind me

Hopefully we're past the point where people feel the need to belittle or undersell Jokic's teammates just to prop him up - he clearly doesn't need any of that to make his case as an all-timer

Lakers being down 3:0 with Murray shooting so poorly and Denver in general barely making any 3s this series must be quite dishearteaning to them.

Absolutely nothing you can do against Embiid - they were posting him over and over and over and it's not like Knicks center rotation is weak

I find his transformation remarkable. When he said that he was going to get into the film room after the Nuggets lost to the Warriors in 2022 instead of working with his trainer on the "deep bag" stuff like he used to do was a huge turning point for him as a player and the Nuggets as a team.

Jokic breakthrough year has him avoid the last 3 PGs that eliminated him(Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, Stephen Curry). Gobert is going through a run where he doesn't have to face those guys either and his playoff narrative might shift because of it

LeBron is old, Gilgeous-Alexander and Doncic are really wings and thus slower, Mitchell, Irving, Murray, Booker and Edwards are SGs, there really isn't a lot of dynamic athletic Hall of Famer decision making on the basketball court these playoffs.

seems a bit too cerebral as explanation. Historically how many championships were won by superstar PGs? Before Curry and the entire Warriors system not many. Nash and CP3 have never been considered as gatekeepers for championships. Big + guard (mostly SG) combo seems to be a timeless formula for success. I don't see Gobert as particularly exceptional. One can even argue that the previous rosters (especially Jazz) weren't too kind to him.

I know it's the end of the plaoffs for them basically, but we have to admire how excellent Davis has been throughout these 3 games. He played against Jokic on even terms, Nuggets are just significantly better as a team overall.

His 76 regular season games this year were the most he's ever played as well. It's very clear a healthy Davis is still a top 10 player in the league. Hopefully he can continue this trend next year too.

4th time in 5 seasons that his injuries seriously threaten/end the Bucks PO run. Lucky his team caught the Hawks in the CFs.

Mavs/Clippers series is really fun. I know a lot of people hate it because none of the stars are doing anything offensively, but man that defense, especially by Dallas is super entertaining. And now the hatred is coming back in. Pretty good to be up 2-1 and Luka hasn't had to win them a game yet. The defense is winning them games.

I can finally say it with some comfort. Best Minnesota Timberwolves team ever. We cleared the highest of bars.

I like Minny a lot, but the series shouldn't be so uncompetitive

Embarrassing way for the #4 player in the NBA to go out.

Feeling kind of vindicated in my comments about being hyped for a 2nd round Denver vs Minnesota series now both are dominantly 3-0 up. Sometimes you can absolutely make judgements after just 1 game.
