Don't think I've ever seen Giannis miss this many layups in one game.

Best thing about the Lakers when LeBron plays is I don't have to watch DLo take so many off the dribble jumpers lol. He's brick city when not mostly catching and shooting.

Still one hell of a performance from the Lakers against a quality team. They've actually been very competitive without LeBron all year. This could be the team's best W of the season if they can hold off.

Best case scenario is they get the 8th seed, get destroyed by the Nuggets and LeBron goes somewhere sensible. Well best case scenario for me

Wouldn't a better scenario be they get the 7 seed, beat the Thunder r1, beat the Pelicans r2, and lose to the Nuggets again in the WCF? Not necessarily likely, but in the realm of possibility.

What a gutsy win, really impressed and proud of AD tonight

Reaves just shows up in big moments

Even had some good defensive moments, he just cant guard more physical guys

West is a bloodbath and Ham not starting Vando or Rui for the year may have **** us bad

We need some luck, but I think we are a legit threat again this year if we make it

Only team I really fear in the west is Den

Pisses me off that Pelinka didn't push in some small chips

Say we dont trade for a high end star, what are some defensive minded 1/2s or 2/3s that can play next to Dlo or Reaves besides the usual names like Caruso, Smart, Bridges?

Not a believer in a SOS thing in general, but they have a real shot at the 7th seed now

LOL...I see the Rhodes scholars are saying the Lakers are better off without Lebron or bringing him off the bench. They need to ask themelves, would any NBA coach or GM, in the entire history of the league, say that same thing. Not a big "appeal to authority" guy, but this one seems to be common sense. LOL...But, they are 6-4 without him this year, which is historically against the trend with Lebron teams. Good on them. If Lebron can get healthier and Vando (some perimeter defense) comes back healthy, they could make some noise again in the playoffs. Who even knows if Vincent will be any help, too. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't he supposed to be the POA defensively for them? Lord knows that Reaves or DLo isn't that person. They're making it interesting this time of year again.

Yup. All of the playoff teams in the West have help.

hmm but usually they say he doesn't have enough help when he loses.

Two separate groups of people, but as it often has been in Los Angeles, the amount of help he has on any given night is a matter of consistency. Last night, when you have Davis performing like a top five player and Reaves putting up an efficient triple double? Sure, lot of help. Last year against Denver when Davis faded hard on both ends and the team was generally much cooler? Not much help.

It is a decent variance play because this team probably is good enough to make a title run if they go on the type of hot streak Miami did last year. But this is also the same exact team that will regularly forget how to play the game, and the same co-star who can either look the best power forward ever… or some mix of Derrick Coleman and Rasheed Wallace.

I was speaking about the haters/trolls/idiots of the world. You seem to be speaking about the overly zealous Lebron fans. During his first stint with the Cavs, that was indeed true. The help stunk. Miami years not so much. Second Cavs stint? First few years pretty good, except for injuries to that help in big games/series, lest we forget what happened to both Kyrie and Love. Lakers stint, generally true for the most part, plus his being really effing old. 6 and 4 is still a small sample size, though. But, like I said, that help is definitely pulling its weight and more when he's been out this year.

Also, what AEnigma said :)

Memphis is the worst offensive team in the league. That probably undersells their talent a tad, but 44 points in 14 minutes is ridiculous.

No surprises there. Lakers are undoubtedly the worst defensive team in the league without AD.
Memphis will also play this like it's Game 7 simply because it's the Lakers.

Idk how LAL would hold up facing the Timberwolves, Pelicans, or Mavericks

We have matched up well with the Pelicans

4-1 vs them since moving Russ

I think we are 11-6 vs them since getting AD

Wolves are tough since they have size, but will KAT be good to go? Also do you trust them in the clutch? Their offense can stall out

Mavs are scary ofc with Luka and Kyrie, but I feel like we can score pretty easily vs them by going at Kyrie and Luka. Also we have some decent bodies for Luka with Vando, Bron, and Rui
