The most points per season after 35y +

1. English 35y 2175pts
2. Malone 36y 2095pts
3. Malone 37y 1878pts
4. KAJ 38y 1846pts
5. Malone 38y 1788pts
6. KAJ 37y 1735pts
7. Dirk 35y 1735pts
8. KAJ 35y 1722pts
9. KAJ 36y 1717pts
10. Lebron 37y 1695pts

Durant and Curry both are 35y and could hit TOP10 this year. Could they reach TOP3 this year?

Some fair cliff edges within the top 5.
6 and on are bunched together.

Assuming this is Reference age (haven't checked DoB) total points short-sells '99 (age 35) K Malone who in the lockout year if you prorate 50 games (the amount the Jazz played, Malone played 49 - therefore the assumption is missing the same proportion of games) out to a full 82 game schedule the '99 season would be at 1908.96 points, giving him second.

Karl is the dominant figure in this (new) top 6 including '99. Kareem sneaks one season in there then dominates the 7-11.

Pace is another factors here (one that helped English). But putting that aside ... from Reference

GSW played 55, 1148 points scales to 1711.563636 for Curry. Scale his 52 games played to 82 (and he can't actually play that but in theory) it scales to 1810.307692.

Phoenix have played 57. 1404 scales to 2019.789474 for Durant which would give him 3rd place. Scale his 50 played to 82 (again, this obviously can't happen) that would scale to 2302.56 which would be first. Whilst the majority of those points are already lost if Durant played more in the last portion of the season than in the first he might more of a shot at 2nd.

In neither case should this be a priority. Teams sensibly resting older, important players before the playoffs would hurt their totals and possibly their ranking.

Lebron has a pretty good shot at getting top 10 as well, 1573 points with 11 games left to play, might even end up passing Malone for 5th if he doesn't miss more than a game.
