Billups has never been as good as Penny at any point in his career, or even close to it.

Penny was a All-NBA first teamer that year, 3rd in MVP voting, had better stats, played on a better team, and had a greater impact on the game offensively and defensively. How is this even a discussion?

Well. Billups is a much better shooter from the line, from the mid-range, and from the trey, Billups is much more durable and didn't break down like Penny did, Billups maximized the talent that he had whenever he went and was a winner everywhere, sort of like the Jerry West version of a Point Guard. Jerry West only won 1 championship on 9 WCF trips, Billups won 1 championship on 6 ECF trips. He can play with almost everybody and has such a versatile skill-set.

Basically, it's better range/durability/career achievements, accolades and accomplishments vs a much better pre-prime, prime, and peak, greater impact on defense/offense and the potential to be an outstanding Point Guard that could have beasted like LeBron-lite over 10+ years if he had Chauncey's durability.

You weren't talking about carriers, you were talking about specific seasons from both players, so the durability argument is useless. Penny played 82 games that season, I think he was durable.

I think I got it mixed up, my bad. Anyhow, I concede that Penny Hardaway was a much more better player than Billups in the selected seasons.

Was last season even Billups' peak? Not that it would help him any in this comparison. Penny, easily.

BTW, Chauncey is a more accurate shooter? I don't think so. In the selected seasons:

Billups: .333 FG%, .286 3P%
Hardaway: .513 FG%, .314 3P%
