Someone might want to do some math. Maybe Jayu, I know you're good on the cap numbers. I'm sure that CC will be moved for cap relief. Then you have to pay the #1 salary. With that in mind and the 2025 salaries already on the books, how much will the team have under the tax?

That is a number that must be know before people start thinking about adding FAs

We don't have Mikal but this is a 35 win team
Spoiler:
Our best lineup last year was probably:

Trae Young
Bogdan Bogdanovic
Saddiq Bey
Jalen Johnson
Onyeka Okongwu

Read on Twitter
FTR, this is what makes me believe the above lineup will work pretty effectively. With a failing jumper and atrocious defense, Saddiq Bey was clearly the weak link in our best 5-man lineup last year. If you just upgrade that SF position to a decent 3-pt shooter with above average defense, the payoff should be immediate and consistent.

The bottom of this list are the numbers for the best Hawks lineup thru the end of February, around the time Trae got injured and things got really weird.

That Trae-Bogi-Saddiq-Jalen-Okongwu lineup was dominant.

Just upgrade that friggin' SF position in the same lineup and get a good backup Center.

I suppose I'm in a minority but I still want to see JJ get most of his minutes at the 3. Needs to improve his 3% but doesn't everyone. He can play perimiter D. He can dribble and he can pass. Got to exploit those skills at the SF

OO / Sarr / JJ / Murray / Trae

At 6'8" with a questionable jumper, I'm not sure Jalen holds any skill/size/positional advantages against SFs around the league.

Ideally, we'd see him exploiting matchups against bigger, slower players....or much smaller ones.

I don't care about position but I'm not an advocate for positionless either. A basketball team needs different skills from different players. You have to have distributors and playmakers. You have to have guys that can shoot the 3. You have to have guys that can break down the D with penetration and cuts. You have to have guys that can score inside. You have to have perimitor defenders. You have to have inside D and rebounding. You have to have rim protection. You have to have size, athleticism and you have to have strong.

Having as many of these as possible is the way to build your team

Smallball needs a solution for half court basketball. The only thing that can save a small lineup in the halfcourt offense is killing threes and some penetration ability. Also have to be able to at least compete on the boards and be able to stop other teams from dominating inside on offense

Snyder chose Hunter and Bey at the 3. Doesn't make him right

We literally didn't have another PF on the roster last season.

Another reason to not think that JJ can't play SF

Better than CC on O but not on D

We'd have better POA defenders on the wing and PF to offset

Here's my additional moves:

Sarr as JJ's backup year one.
Start OO (we need to see if he can be a fulltime starter, injury concerns etc.).
Sign Big Val (MLE) to backup OO.
Bruno 3rd string.

Trade CC and see if we can get another late pick and draft Tristan da Silva, 6'-9" SF hoping he can be our Jaime Jacquez (Jamaal special) and back up Hunter, a senior who should contribute innediately and we can plug and play.
Saw comparisons to young Gallo and Deni Avdijah from Wiz.

The way I see it, the potential frontcourt rotation is very similar to Dallas. Gafford to OO, Lively to Sarr. DJJ to potentially someone like Ryan Dunn. Uber athletic forwards are very important to non athletic guards.

They are proving you can put low volume role guys with your uber high usage guards and make it to the conf finals atleast. Last but not least, get pieces from DJM and CC to compliment the roster even further.

We have a show where we talk about this in detail. The Coach Von/King Ken show. Check it out.

Trade Murray and Capela for Orl 24' 1st, Isaac
Trade Hunter, Griffin, Bruno to DEN, Matthews to a 3rd team to a 2nd to ATL, and Michael Porter Jr to Atlanta
Trade down from #1 for Brodgon(JC TPE), 7 and 14.
Trade up with ORL 1st and 14th pick for Knecht and draft Edey.

Trae/Brodgon
Bogi/Kobe
MPJ/Knecht
JJ/Isaac
Edey/OO

I just would not touch Porter jr and that contract and I do not believe he’s good enough defensively to start with Trae + Bogi.

And Isaac and Brodgon are way too injury prone for me to give up Murray or #1 pick and only getting mid picks back….would need much more value.
