Scott will be interesting, given his pending charges.

The good thing is the Hawks have until July 10th (I think) to pick up Mike's option. We'llbe well into free agency by then.

I respect Kent Bazemore waiting for our front office.
However, I have no reason to believe that we'll offer him $16 million per year.

The article/title mentions the teams interested in his services.

16 million is a ridiculous amount for him.

I really hope our team doesn't pay him like he would be our 3rd best player on the team when he obviously is not.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst speculates, based on what he's seen/heard...the linchpin in whether AL comes back is the 5th year of that contract.

Otherwise, the OKC offer or other 4 year max offers may be enough to entice him to leave.

He also predicts Bazemore ends up with a 4 year/$70 million dollar offer somewhere.

Craziness!!!!

These numbers are just getting out of hand now. I don't know what's a good contract anymore.

Just think about how you would have pay before, then x1.35 ;-)
Think Bazemore at 11M was OK, then the same is now 14.85M

Actually, if it was necessary to keep him as the last piece missing to be a contender, they would think about it, but it would only work if ATL had Bird rights on him and not Early Bird.

These Early Bird are creating a big problem, because if we keep him, and we don't trade Splitter first, we won't have any impact in Free Agency.
If Splitter is traded, we have 34M, so Bazemore at 16M, it leaves 18M, what Noah is on the verge to get with NYK

The NBA has money to spend. TV deals are huge now and money is rolling in from Asia and Europe and down under.

Teams that have inquired with Kent Bazemore's agent since midnight under impression it might take $19M-$20M per year to sign him.

If they have a lockout next summer, I suspect this is one of the prime contracts the league will point to as the types of bloated salaries that have to be dealt with.

At this point. I'd be okay of we just drafted, developed and traded SFs for value every year.

Kinda like what the Braves are gonna do with all that pitching.

3 & D players are the new, most valuable NBA currency, apparently. :-?

Question of the day: do we actually have any targets?

Remember the Hawks are notoriously tight lipped, not hearing anything can be good or bad.

These big contracts don't mean a thing because they raised the salary cap.

Yeah but we knew we were meeting Baze 2 years ago. Same with DeMarre and Millsap. We kinda guessed the Splitter thing was coming also. It's too quiet right now.
