I've been a chronic hater of Mack, and though he's played very well this season, I stand by my position. He is not nor will ever be a starting caliber PG - ideally he's not even your backup PG. He is a role player that is having a great season.
At $1-2M a season for a couple of seasons? Sure, why not. But talks about the MLE are simply crazy and how teams bury themselves in mediocrity.

To be clear, there are 3 types of MLE's now and the Room MLE sets up around $2.5M. Not sure why the $.5M difference on the max contract would be particularly disconcerting...

Okay, I was thinking of the full MLE which is in the $4-6 range.
$2.5M a season is still richer than my taste but it probably won't kill us.

I do think that there is a vertue to have 3 solid PG, point made during JT's short absence.
That being said, Mack solid play within Bud system makes him a solid BU and depending on what is out there, I would consider trading either Teague or Dennis, as part of a package, obviouslyif the return is worth it.
If you want a good piece or two, you have to give up a good one too.
