Please, can you tell me where did I say such a thing ?

- You put numbers of what you would do if you make an offer to Monroe
- I put numbers of lowest and highest room limits (up to you to do anything between those limits) to mainly show that the highest room at this moment and even if we don't keep both Scott and Mack doesn't allow to offer Monroe a Max offer (when you were saying that it was possible).

Anybody is free to pick an option between these lowest and highest room option, including not keeping Mack or what you says of not keeping Scott, because I never said that we need to keep Scott if we make an offer to Monroe.

$1,690,680 - Payne
$1,312,920 - Jenkins
$1,250,000 - Antic
$1,148,163 - Mack

total - $49,345,964
cap - $13,654,036

It would be 13,854,036, but as it's for 11 players, you have to add one roster charge of $507,366, so the real cap room in this case (not keeping Scott) is $13,346,670 (13,854,036 - 507,336)

This doesn't make sense. Why would you spend $507,366 when Monroe would be your 12th man signing?

You don't spend it really, it's added in the numbers with other salaries, and then deleted once the player is signed. Once you have 12 player on the roster, there's no more incomplete roster charge.
That's the rule

CNNSI grades us on the Thabo Seflosha signing. (We gotta come up with a nickname that's easier to type. It's like trying to spell Cincinnati.)

Hawks sign Thabo Sefolosha (three years, $12M)

Grade: C+. Sefolosha didn't exactly sign at a bargain price, but his size, length and potential to contribute as a shooter will solidify Atlanta's wing rotation.

I'd largely agree with the grade. Not a good or bad signing really. While there was a purpose, it doesn't really make us better or worse.

I would say that it's way too early to make that proclamation after seeing our staffs work with carroll last season.

It could end up being a lateral move compared to keeping lou will where we get better on D but worse on O or it could end up being seen as a steal like carroll was. Im sure none of us were hyped about the carroll deal when it was signed and he easily outplayed the 2.5 million that we gave him.

If Thabo plays at all, it will be an upgrade for us. Lou, sorry because I like the guy and he grew up near me, didn't give us anything last season. His injury and the lack of confidence thereafter made him a non-factor. He was supposed to be our spark off the bench, but instead he had multiple coach's decisions and weak performances. I think Sefolosha is going to contribute a lot more. Mostly his defense is going to improve us, but if he can knock down some shots and spell someone who's out, he's going to give us a lot more than Lou did last season.

I agree with this. Lou was one of my favorite players on the team when he first joined, but that ACL tear just robbed him of his game. His play was an overall negative for the team last year. He had a few good games on the offensive end towards the end of the season, but it doesn't make up for his offensive struggles throughout the season or his complete lack of defense.

Anyone know a thing about Giorgos printezis? We acquired him in the S n T with OKC.

Originally drafted by guess who? The spurs. Maybe bud and ferry wants this particular asset for a reason..?

6'9 F plays in Greece has at least one YouTube video. Reminds me of Pero.

Thabo acquisition is complete. We worked in a sign and trade to benefit OKC.

Read on Twitter

The Thunder will receive the rights to draft-and-stash prospect Sofoklis Schortsanitis, while Atlanta gets Sefolosha, the rights to fellow draft-and-stash prospect Giorgos Printezis, and cash.

rights to Sofoklis were acquired two years ago when Ferry worked a sign-and-trade sending Willie Green to LAC.

(UGA_DAWGS24, this was part of the reason I updated the Willie Green thread two weeks ago. I was researching in the archives and realized his rights never reverted from us. You can lock that old thread, if you find it necessary.)

Apparently, the League Office put out a memo to the teams in regards to trades. The League Office is now cracking down on deals where the a team is essentially receiving assets to absorb a contract. Printezis actually fulfills some minimum qualifier in this regard since he plays regular minutes in a prestigious league.

Basically, since we were giving up a token overseas guy, we wanted one back for a deal down the line, and OKC had someone that fit the bill.

The real reason we participated in a Sign and Trade for Thabo instead of just signing him outright:

The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired the rights to Sofoklis Schortsanitis and a trade exception from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for guard/forward Thabo Sefolosha, the rights to Giorgos Printezis and cash considerations...
http://www.nba.com/thunder/release_schortsanitis_140715

Our ownership is so poor. This is the second one of these micro trades we've done in 4 months.

Win/win S&T. They get a TPE, we get cash back.

Thabo Sefolosha's decided to drop out of playing for the Swiss national team... He says he dropping out because of the injury risk and wanting to focus on the next NBA season.
HERE

This is very promising. Sounds like Thabo is taking his upcoming season very seriously.

...on a side note, I gotta include the sole comment on this article over at nbcsports:

Honestly didn’t know Thabo was with the Hawks. I’d guess this is the last headline he’ll make.

Classic...sadly so many other Free Agents still think this way.

Possible, but players never play in the summer when they don't have a signed contract because you can't get insurance based on your salary when you don't have a salary... or the insurance would certainly cost way higher, something Thabo or the Swiss federation wouldn't pay.

I'm pretty sure that if he was already signed, he would have play with his national team.

I thought he WAS officially signed as part of the sign and trade from OKC?
