Zaza 2.0?

Post#1 » by davefmcl » Fri Jul 18, 2014 7:09 pm

Since Larry Drew is gone from the Bucks I wonder if we could get Zaza back from them for a 2nd, Jenkins or something else cheap? He would bring post rebounding and toughness in the paint. He has one more year on deal, so it's no too long term.

Thoughts?

you can have him for a bag of balls.

not that hes bad or hasnt helped us, we are just carrying 4 centers right now between sanders/henson/miroslav and zaza, plus it'd free up space to go after bledsoe if we wanted to.

I'd absolutely be in favor of this move. AL has gone down for the year in two different seasons. Zaza played an integral role back in 2012 of keeping us afloat. ONE of the reasons we couldn't survive AL's absence this time was because we lacked a dependable backup center to plug into the starting spot.

With Pau, Jefferson and maybe K-Love fleeing East in recent years, the need for a big, bruising Center to throw at these guys is greater than ever. And any move that keeps unnecessary WEAR-and-TEAR off of AL Horford is to our benefit.

Zaza's time in Atlanta is over. 58, 52 and 53 = number of games played during the last 3 seasons.

I'd love to bring back Zaza, he'll provide some nice big man depth and is a fan favorite.

Wow, so the Hawks all time leader in illegal screens, 3sec. violation, technical fouls, with a HORRIBLE contract and injury prone is what we'd like to have back?!?!?!? Really? This franchise is as big as its fans hold it to be! What a shame!

Horrible contract? Have you seen the deals handed out?

I think Zaza wouldn't be too bad, but they seriously need to find a centre to keep Horford fresh down the stretch and to save him the wear-n-tear. To me, they should have gone for Asik. He'd be the perfect anchor down low and I could have seen Atlanta having a somewhat similar year to what Portland had when they finally got Aldridge a legit 7 footer to play next to him and the Rockets were looking to take anything in the form of assets. Really am disappointed they didn't go and take a flyer on him.

Give this man all the available backup minutes and he will shine.
