OT: Delonte traded to Min, Could be bought out

Post#1 » by GregB » Tue Jul 27, 2010 1:34 am

Wolves could waive Delonte West, only guaranteed $500,000, to further get under the salary cap, and trade Telfair, source tells Y! Sports.

He's one crazy son of a bitch. But He can shoot and can play some 2. If hes willing to sign for Minimum with us. I would be all for bringing him back.

I'd take Delonte in a HEARTBEAT for the following reasons

1.He was happy when he was here, which should stand in his favor.

2. He also knows our system

3. He is an excellent defender. He and Rondo were a hellacious tandem and could be again.

4. He can shoot from the perimeter, and we need that.

5. We are DESPERATE for help off of the bench, especially at the 2 and 3 spots, and Delonte has proven to be effective at the 2.

6. When we play the Heat his presence on the floor will mess with LeBron's head.

Seriously, considering where our roster is at right now, how could we turn him down?

I'd sign him just to talk smack to LeBron.

He definitely will be waived and he definitely will be suspended for quite a while next season. The whole season? Who knows with Stern.

Problem is, he an Avery are the same player, or too close for comfort. We really need a SF more then a (another small) SG.

comment from the general board. LOL!

"The best part about this is that Delonte can sell his house in Cleveland and he'll still have a place to stay when he comes back"

I like him more than Marquis Daniels, personally.

It seems like a lot of people on this board have high expectation for Avery Bradley but we can't assume the rookie is going to be able to contribute to a team trying to win a championship right away.

Delonte has playoff experience and could help this team, especially if it's for short money.

Bring back my binky!

West with KG and Big Baby would be awesome. The guy may be a nutjob but he plays with reckless abandon and makes plays. He was way better in Boston than in Cleveland and his best season in Cleveland was 2008 when in game 7 his 3 attempt to tie with under a minute to play rattled in and out.

He is an upgrade over TA even if his defense is not as good. For the vet min we could do a lot worse. He would immediately make Nates 4 million contract a nice asset come trading deadline.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I would love him here. His game is a killer to opponents. Perfect sg for us off the bench. Plays very good d and can definitely shoot. He's the only one I was scared of every time we played Cleveland before.

I'd prefer him over House. If he's going to be suspended, that gives Bradley some time to see if he can fit into the rotation until he gets back. I don't think I want to put up the headache of Delonte though. A week in we'll be hearing about how he was scared to fly with the team, so he stayed back and snorted crack off a loaded gun while banging Pierce's mom.

delonte's got SWAGGA

i say if we can't get IVERSON then we try to sign delonte.

however, if we can get SHAQ, then that's what we do. SHAQ + IVERSON top priority. otherwise we make a move on delonte.

Yea I'd get him. I'm sure he would love to come back to Boston and be a key piece on a team that will main competition to the LeBron's of Miami. He could back up Ray. But I'd still want a legit back up..now that Tmac is going to Chicago, I expect the Celtics to pull even harder for Josh Howard.

Rondo/Nate/Bradley
Ray/Delonte
Pierce/Howard/Daniels
Garnett/Big Baby/Luke
Jermaine/Perk/Semi

Don't know how anybody could complain about those 14 guys. That's as solid as it gets. Kind of small, but the small guys would be super talented. I'd be thrilled. Delonte is a pretty damn good defender too.

Well he is better the House - but way too small. I don't see why we need him Bradley and Nate along with Rondo. That's just ridiculous. To win basketball games you need guys taller then 6'2" in general..

^^Shannon Brown 6'4", Steve Blake 6'3", Derek Fisher 6'1"..how would that be any different than Boston with Rondo, Nate, and Delonte?

Cause you skipped Bradley who is our first round pick...So your talking about 1/4 of your roster 6'2" and under..
