My guess is Houston would be throwing a lot more draft capital in the pot there.

My thinking is if Houston is giving up too much they will just trade for Giannis themselves. The premise is Giannis has Boston on his shortlist and Brad has to get Houston to help out to make the trade work, and Houston does this because they get a star and keep most of their draft capital for a 2nd upgrade.

Trae Young is the problem LOL!!

Hawks are going to have a hard time finding a trade partner for Trae Young.

I agree in principle but why would you want another first pick in this draft? Portland already has the 7th and 14th.

Going to be a lot of movement this summer, should be a fun one to see how it pans out.

Rumors are that everyone wants to trade their first round pick. Not a good omen for this draft class.

Yeah that makes sense, I just think he'd land more than that and I don't think that Boston is the one putting less of the value share in the pot in that one. Ie, I think Okc or whoever outbids that and cuts out Houston if that is what they are putting on the table, or if Giannis isn't coming to Boston that Boston gets more for Brown than that package.

Interesting idea though, Boston would be an absolutely stellar fit for Giannis roster-wise.

What the heck, let's just do it before Milwaukee wakes up.
Throw it in the corner... Brown fakes, fires up a three... BANG!!! BANG!!! :D

I like JB but would do that in a heartbeat. I agree with 165bows that Rockets may need to add a bit?

I still hope to add Walker.

But a side not, if team wins it all this year, I have to assume that some vets will line up to join us.

Can we talk about coaching?
We already lost one lead assistant. Now I read that Sam Cassel is a candidate for the Lakers job.

Again, we will need to add leading assistants - assuming Joe will continue.

Does JVG move into more of a bench role? Stinks to potentially lose both Lee and Cassel, but realistically it was not too surprising when both have been considered for head coaching jobs that they wouldn't be on the bench under Joe for long. Maybe we visit the long list of former head coaches who also don't have a ton of tenure for assistant positions. Eliminates a guy like Vogel who probably is only interested in head coach gigs, but maybe Stotts (who before last season I would have said is only interested in hc jobs) wants to be an assistant after leaving the Bucks? Joerger or Borrego if they don't get head coaching jobs as possibilities. Eventually though you have to develop assistants or you're constantly rotating them in and out like we are this season even if Joe sticks.

With the Bucks not owning their own picks for the next 6 years it would take Giannis demanding a trade for this to happen. Given that the injuries they just suffered I have a hard time believing he does so, if they'd lost with everybody healthy maybe but the injuries are a good excuse to run it back, and he really seems to love Milwaukee.

But I think something like this could be an option in summer 2025, specially if the C's don't win this year or next and the Bucks flame out next year.

Return to Boston Celtics
