We know David Stern wants a game 7- refs will be very rigged

Post#1 » by nbhadja » Mon Jun 14, 2010 5:11 am

In game 6 expect for the refs to be EXTREMELY against the Celtics. David Idiot Stern wants game 7 since the ratings will be through the roof. Boston will need to outplay LA by a lot to win game 6 in order to counteract the rigged referees.

Had we lost tonight the refs would be on our side in game 6 to extend it to game 7.

Looked like Stern wanted a final second shot for tonight's game. A couple of real bull fouls in the final minute and a half alone.

Celtics really executed extremely well offensively though to milk down that clock.

Hopefully Bynum is out of commission on a short turn-around. Apparently he only had 1 rebound and I think no blocks in 30 minutes... just one day turnaround we might see Odom a lot in game 6. And that could mean we'll be good enough to outplay LA enough to win in 6 games.

I really wonder about that, I think the league is ok influencing games to ensure series go longer, but I think they are satisfied if it goes 6.

my impression is that the last three games (edit, games 5-7, seven if needed) will be called fairly evenly, there is more attention and it does the league no good to look like they are rigging EVERY game. plus, who knows, they may want the best team to win.

it was one thing when Cs were up 3-0 vs Orlando, this is the Finals w two teams that are pretty evenly matched. That said I do think we are the better team and given a fairly even playing field we will come out on top.

I have zero confidence in the NBA that a fair game 6 will be called, and shocked if there isn't a game 7.

Stern Shmern. The team that plays harder and is most focused will win the game. Despite of how it refereed.

You hate to be preemptively pessimistic but the rotation for guys left for the final two games isn't great. Tonight was an ideal crew getting both Callahan and Crawford. I'm sort of hoping they slip Delaney into the rotation, otherwise we could be looking at some combo of Mauer, Foster, D. Crawford, Salvatore, Mccutchens, maybe even Kennedy (although I doubt he gets two finals games). The first 4 will amost certainly be in the rotation. As long as we don't get Foster or Kennedy I can live with other guys, even Salvatore.

As a Laker fan for 30 plus years. I say it is over. Lakers shot there best and it was not good enough. Congrats on the championship.

The way to get us would have been to call a technical on Perkins or Sheed last night.

Are they going to do that in Game 6, so that we don't have one of them for Game 7?

Could happen, but they would really have to earn it.

And yes, I am a card-carrying member of the Stern-sucks, games-are-rigged club.

I think we've got 'em.

I don't think Dave is looking for 7 games.

The ref crew will matter, though.

Still, Celtics in 6.

^^^ Yeah I think Stern will dial things back a bit. I actually think Donaghy has been a help to the Celtics this run because when he predicts the obvious "fix" theories Stern tends to go against em. The Lakers will have to win 6 on their own - and they can do that. Despite the Laker jinx attempt.. We got to come out fightin...and take the will away from the fans. Laker fans aren't the most vocal so its possible..

This is going 7 games guys. What you saw in the 4th quarter (BS foul on Allen when Kobe was shooting a 3) is what we are going to see all next game. If the gams is not tightly called this favors the Celtics. Obviously Sten cannot let that happen because if there is no game 7 the NBA loses a bunch of money. Next game will be tightly called. Also Bennett Salvatore is a lock to be one of the refs next game.
Reggie stood out like a sore thumb no tattoos no agenda no chirping nothing Just a guy who could score at will He played college ball at Northeastern he replaced Larry as Celtics captain he belonged to Boston.
And I still miss him. Even now.

There is a sticky at the top of the page for all things referee, which, imo, includes conspiracy theories associated with their performance. Please keep discussions on the topic centralized to that thread. Thank you.
