Collison/Thompson ain't making them any better next year, so in that sense it's good for us.

I read on the NetsDaily site often and thus far they aren't happy with the current details of the trade. I personally think they are delusional they are convinced their cap space in 2016 is going to save them. I haven't looked into it but I would guess there will be plenty of other teams with cap space that summer.

No they won't not only that but really no one is going to take their big 3 except for maybe Lopez and give anything of value. If anything like it's being reported, teams will expect compensation for taking DWill or JJ off their hands. JJ still has some use but all their contracts are just terrible.

Yeah, I understand that Deron is making a lot more than Rondo and is locked in for the next 3 years but unless there are some picks or other parts of the offer it's freaking terrible. Basically just a deal to clear cap space.

Yup! Even if it worked and just being honest no homer here, if I were a free agent in 2016 why would I sign there? It would have to be a case of just no other teams offering close to what they are offering. The reality is they won't have their own picks for two more years after that and who knows what talent they will have. Ownership, management, and coaching is not solid at all. The only thing they hold onto is the big market of Brooklyn, I just don't think that's going to make a difference for a player that matters when comparing better teams/situations.

Hopefully Atlanta can keep rolling. They're playing really well right now.

Atlanta is on a pretty serious roll right now, I really hope they pull this one out we need every loss we can get.

Clips now 8-6 on the road. Same pattern as last year, these guys are just average when they leave Staples. Too bad they have some of the easiest 'road' games in the league, playing the Lakers on their own court lol.

Hawks played last night as well, but they are 12-2 at home. Go Hawks.

Can I just say that I love the fact that we have 5 different teams to watch with regard to draft rights and positioning? It really will give us a lot to look at come the end of the season. That first pick of the second round from the sixers should be sweet.

Posted it in the draft thread but this is the best overview of the Celtics pick situation, and it's auto-updated so stays up to date. The guy posts here a bit and has done a nice job fleshing out the site. C's currently owed picks #22, 31, and 54.

Sure I can take it down, I have them listed as just a way to talk about any of their transactions here and how it could impact our future picks. I could also remove the Mavericks since we most likely won't get their pick this season as well. Not sure what would be the right way to go, does anyone else feel the same way and want me to keep/remove anyone?

I would like to follow the Mavs though, they have a chance to miss the playoffs in the west, it's minimal but it's a possibility.

You could also just pencil in the Sixers pick at 31. :)

Worth noting that Zach Lowe had the Clippers ranked seventh in his big western conference overview column. I posted the link over in the Isaiah Thomas thread.

@BillSimmons: You can point to the awful bench, no perimeter stopper etc, but the real prob with the Clips is they don't love playing with each other...

@BillSimmons: ...And I'm not sure how you fix that. The Clips seems bored/detached, like they are the defending champs or something. They've done nothing.

@BillSimmons: Clips have to play Hedo and Big Baby in the last 8 mins of this Toronto game. I might have to invite GM Doc to the Atrocious GM Summit.

games of interest for the Celtics tonight.

Hou @ Spurs (Spurs have lost a few Close games lately, need a W here)

OKC @ Dallas (No KD,want OKC to gain 1 game on Dallas in the playoff race)

PHX @ Lakers (Little dicey situation, wants PHX to win,but hate if LAL outtanked us for a top 5 pick)

Det @ CLE, hopefully Detroit upsets, they have a worse record than ours in the tankathon

P.S , Knicks are playing Portland on the road, could always hope for a miracle Knucks win, hate it if they were gifted a franchise player in the draft, undeservingly.

Return to Boston Celtics
