Beal almost single handedly blew the game - never should have went to OT. Beal pretty much never passed to Pierce - has it been like that all year?

Or if he opts out and we stay over the cap by re-signing our FA:s, plus making a trade for Cousins, work out a S&T with Washington giving them a TE and a conditional 2nd rounder.

If they stay over the cap they can just give him the full MLE, nearly the same as he's due from Washington.

If he's serious about coming back to Boston in the front office, I don't know why he wouldn't take an offer like that.

Pierce could have gone for at least 25+ tonight had the Wizards fed him. For a team with no superstar isolation scorers, the Wizards reluctance to give it to Pierce on the block or set him a pick, if even just to mix things up from the monotonous Wall dish and feed (which at least is effective unlike the Beal bumble play they also favor) is bewildering.

The Wiz offense is a train wreck. It has been all year. They got to do some better stuff with Wall's talent (and he is incredibly talented). That's on the coach IMO.

If Whitman designs the plays, no wonder why they are a 5 seed. He should have Wall go watch tape and understand how to win games at the end of regulation.

I love him, Pierce is a tremendous clutch performer, but I would say if he is on our team this year taking minutes from Crowder, we don't make the playoffs, and he would not be an upgrade on the current situation next year. We have the assets and flexibility to go big.
He will not be better next year. I get the emotional temptation, but we don't need any 38year olds on this team.

There's only one conclusion from Game 1: The Raptors couldn't handle The Truth!

Let's see what Rondo does tonight. Kind of great seeing the Celtics in the playoffs but at the same time seeing Pierce and Rondo on two different teams do their thing that we're so used to seeing for years.

Shout out to the Toronto Sun for not letting sleeping dogs lie. They just woke up the Rottweiler this morning.

In case you forgot, this was their headline last year before Game 1.

So which one of you kind gents can photoshop this gif and add Paul Pierce's face to it? It'll become relevant once the Wizards prevent the Raptors from passing into the 2nd round.

Ujiri needs to drink a cup of STFO.

His teams haven't done jack squat in the playoffs and he's acting like he's Red Auerbach.

What a player and an amazing character he is! If I had to choose a player to take a shot and my life depended on the outcome, I would still take the Truth to take it.

It was ridiculous watching the end of this game. Pierce didn't get to touch the ball in the last five minutes and he is the most clutch end-of-game player in the last 20 years. It's amazing that Wittman still has a job.

Pierce's game has not materially deteriorated. Like Duncan, his minutes need to be managed closely but he's still elite when on the floor. If we ever managed to get Love onboard I would absolutely bring The Truth home.

as a Wiz fan, there are so many wrong statements in this thread. 1st off Wall has never hit a last second game winner but that doesnt mean he isnt clutch. He's been top 5 all season in clutch points, which is late 4th quarter scoring in close games. Wall & Beal arent ready for primtime? Beal was one of the best players in the whole playoffs last season while only being 21.

The fact is that Wall was playing great ball down the stretch of the sason and we decided to rest him for the playoffs. Since he came back he has been terribly out of rhythm. Beal was also better down the stretch hen he's been all season. Both guys just got in a recent funk that they have to get out of. Basically Im saying that they shouldve definitely went to PP more and less of Wall-Beal since these guys are in a funk and when they are in a funk then that

Ujiri really needs to stop this crap. This is two years in a row he has held a pregame rally where he has shouted expletives about his opponent. I know some people think that is "AWESOME!!!," but to me, it reeks of unprofessionalism. You are an NBA general manager. Act like it.

Should get a ban, honestly. Grow up bro.

I am fan of PP since Rick Pittino period with Antoine Walker, Kenny Anderson. I thought Walker was Real Deal, and PP will be very good but never assumed He became future HoF. I am happy He is with Wizards. Shame We have Wittless as a coach who can't read the game and draw right plays...

20 points on 7-10 & 4-7 from 3 & 4Rs & very good D on Derozan.

He literally won Game 1 VS the Raps!

And there would have been no OT if he had even touched the **** ball in Q4!

Paul Pierce is a mother **** stud who talks the talk, & then walks the walk.

NEVER underestimate what this first ballot HOFER can bring - EVEN at age 37 1/2!

Ooooorah!
