Cleveland 101 @ Boston 93 Post-game Notes: Season Over (0-4)
Well, that was a pretty crazy game to say the least. Between Kelly's unfortunate incident (I think there was bad, purposeful intent, though I don't think he wanted to dislocate his shoulder), the stuff between Jae and Perkins (Perk should have been ejected) and J.R. Smith's nonsense (deserved ejection and I hope he is suspended at least one game), there is a lot of non basketball stuff to discuss as well.
Just want to say this first: I love this team. No quit in us at all.
AB's defense is solid, but I think I'm done with him honestly. He consistently does the bare minimum in the post season. I don't see that changing after his play this series. Sullinger was fantastic this game and is clearly our best/second best player. I really want him to hit the gym HARD this summer. If he can get fit he could become a top pf/c in this league imo. Crowder has a ton of hustle, and if we can keep him around for a bit on the cheap that would be great. I love his attitude. Bass has let me down this series overall but he's still one of my favorite players and I hope we send him to a legit contender if he's not here next year.
Marcus Smart: what a player. He really is a personification of Celtics Pride. Absolutely in love with his game and I'm confident he will only improve going forward. Exum who?
Brad made some weird decisions the past two games but ill give him a pass as its his first playoff series in the NBA.
This will probably be discussed more in Around the NBA, but I'm still not impressed with this Cavaliers team at all. Solid wins, they swept us, and I give them full credit for that, but I simply cannot see them winning a title this year. Regardless, all of these games were closer than they likely expected and I'm glad we made them work hard for the wins.
It has been an absolute pleasure making these post game threads and discussing basketball with ALL of you. Strange year but I had a ton of fun watching our team. I love the Celtics. I love you guys. Looking forward to some good offseason discussion as well.
GO CELTICS!!!!!!!

Danny Ainge needs to be fired if Tyler Zeller or Kelly Olynyk are starting at center for opening night next season (Obv. I'm exaggerating a bit saying he should be fired but I think you get the point)
#1 priority this offseason should be getting a rim protector. Don't want another season of layup lines

I just wanna say the hate on IT in the game thread is ridiculous. He wasn't exposed, the shots he normally hit didn't fall. He still willed himself to 21-10-5 or whatever he had. Game three was bad yes, but other than that he played well. Needs to work on his handle though, and not getting himself into tough spots where being short leads to turnovers.

Have a lot of work to do to get this team back to contender status. We hardly have any talent on the team but heart and effort got us into the playoffs. Good season fellas, been a roller coaster ride all season but the future is going to be great.

Sad the season is over but proud of this team for the fight they showed this series.
Cannot say I am happy at how this team shot the ball on and off the FT line.
If nothing else making the playoffs showed players true colors which truthfully is bad news for half the roster.
Regardless this sweep was expected and this is what happens when a team has starters that probably should be bench players.
Celtics won't get a good FA here so hopefully Ainge hits on something in the draft. That and trades.

Congratulations to the Cs and their fans for a great season. The team represented the city of Boston so very well this afternoon - scrapy, never-say-die, fighting, completely great effort. And to the RealGM Cs board -- great season for y'all. You guys have a great group of posters that represents the city and the franchise in a positive fashion.
Go ahead and have a great off-season, Boston will be a team on the rise.
Peace,
Pine

Thank You, for the Post Game threads truth18, all year.
This team did good this year. Through all the changes, and after having only gone 25-57 last year.
40-42, was impressive. This team has a good deal of Heart.
We need to get a Lights Out SF shooter, and a Rim Protecting C.

Expect to hear, and see every big star player connected to the Celtics. That's the only positive left now that the Celtics season is over.

Unfortunately almost none of will hold any water. Big time FAs aren't coming to Boston. Celtics need to explore the trade market big time this summer. All the pick are awesome, but there is no chance Boston is using all of them. Time to start consolidating assets and getting better.

I don't know about y'all but this season was mad FUN. From the Rondo, Green trades to the IT trade to the dog fight in this team to make the playoffs...Danny's number 1 priority...rim protection, size, rebounding.
Disappointed with AB, his d was good but hard to overlook his offensive woes he's had since being drafted.
KO, Zeller, Bass(edit:my bad forgot Bass was a FA)...wouldn't be mad if they were traded for upgrades at other positions. Sully...get on that treadmill, eat right and lose weight you fat ass.
To all the pro tankers who wanted no part of this playoff run...please..

I sincerely would like Danny to brought 3 shooters and a rim protector in, if he can't land a star I would be more than fine with throwing money at DeAndre.
