If I didn't know that Hunter was so media conscious I would suggest it for a nick name. Smooth Criminal kind of fits him, but because of the connection to crime and MJ it would never happen.

We do need a legit nickname for him tho, because it’s a forgone conclusion that this kid is a player. Something fitting that I can yell out when he drops 30’ers on the reg, or makes one of his “oh sh**!” passes.

Probably been giving this too much thought, but I think I have a nick name...

Got to be RJ "The Dragon" Hunter

RJ has a striking resemblance to El Debarge.

Although many people think RJ looks like Prince:

Anyway El Debarge sung on the The Last Dragon soundtrack:

He kind of looks like this guy too...

Anyway El Debarge also sung the excellent song "Rhythm Of The Night":

I like the El Debarge comparison. We can call him "El Cazador" which in spanish translates to "The Hunter"
That's a start, we need to keep them coming.

Is it normal for a 28th pick to get a deal with a big company like Nike, Addidas or Under Armour? My understanding is it's not. I guess Nike is expecting big things?

It's normal. At last count Nike had 278 NBA players under contract and Hunter makes #279. Addidas probably has close to 200.

Might as well call him "Mr. Robot" because he looks a lot like Rami Malek to me.

That show is awesome, by the way. If you don't watch it, you should.

He'll have some tantalizing moments this season, I look forward to year 3 though - his growth curve should be steadier than AB's was.

Give him a silid learning environment and shots at opportunity and i bet he capitalizes on most.

Yup. I second this. Great show and I do see the similiarity. Plus if he is a lights out shooter it will work in two ways..

15th overall wrote:^ Sho Nuff.

I know I proposed The Dragon, but every time I scroll down and I see 15th's response I think what a great nick name that would be.

Hunter with the 3! Sho Nuff!

Sho Nuff with the dish for the basket!

Sho Nuff with the defensive play!

I do like Mr. Robot as well. Has a nice ring.

How about we let him accomplish something before felating him with nicknames...

Agreed. Nicknames should be earned. RJ is fine for now.

Debarge makes sense. He looks nothing like Prince though imo.

As far as earning nicknames goes, you guys gave Smart his terrible (imo) "Smartacus" nickname before the season started. Why should it be different for Hunter?
