That took a strange turn...

Gambling is the most fun when it's with your friends. Never got into any online or tournament play.

Should have bet on the C's when that KG info went down!

Sounds like something a lousy player who lost money would say.

This offseason is the most fun on this forum that I can remember. I wonder who will be the next poster to lose it...

EDIT: And that, my friends, was the all-important 15,000th post from yours truly. Love you all, lunatics included.

Phil Hellmuth is a tournament player. He won most of his money in the 80s and 90s when poker was about as skillful as craps and anyone who had any clue could make $250k + a year easily.
He's considered a fish by medium stakes cash game players and high stakes tournament players.

David Lee is a likely a terrible player-thats why he's invited to these games.

For Phil Hellmuth to invite you to a cash game, he thinks he has an edge...and Phil Hellmuth is usually the fish in games where you can lose $1000 or more even in a casino. (Called 5/10 No Limit). If David Lee played enough in that game he'd go broke unless he dedicated 5 or 6 months to learning the game.

As for the religious freak trying to derail this thread, online poker is actually legal in several US states like New Jersey, South Carolina and Nevada.
Poker is the epitome of American freedom.
It's also a game of skill.
People who lose too much money playing poker are called addicts. Just like people who use too many drugs or drink too much.
Should we just ban smoking and drinking in the USA?
You sound like someone who likes communism, religious control and a lack of civil liberties.
You've been brainwashed you poor soul.

Yes, I am a professional online poker player and you are the communist religiously fanatical scum.

Go knock on some people's doors and tell them how they're living their lives wrong so you can feel better about yourself some more. Lol.

Phil turned 21 in 1989.

His total "official winnings" from the 1980's were about $805,000.

A lot of Asians take part in gambling, from insect fighting to betting nothing or double on slicing a bottle in half, so no surprise that David Lee and his large contract has that as a hobby instead of something safer like investing in a mango farm in Oxnard.

Which set him up for the golden era of poker in 1990's which- his glory days.
The rumor in vegas is that he's broke and being staked by some wealthy buddies.
He's lost millions in cash games because he's a fish.
Most people don't realize there's a huge skill/strategy difference between cash & tournament poker.
Tournament players get the fame, and then give their tournament winnings to the cash game sharks.
