#3 pick

Post#1 » by thegreenlife » Wed May 18, 2016 12:38 am

Considering that Simmons and Ingram are top 2 locks, what do we do with #3?
(I only listed the two, very realistic options that we have at this point)

I'm heated that we didn't land top 2 :banghead:

Colangelo likes Euros, he could pull a Bennett from 3 years ago, or anorher Bargnani (Bender).

He could either mess up badly by picking Bender at 1 and have Ingram fall to us.

Or trade down to 3rd, get Dunn at PG (their need) and whatever players and picks we can give the Sixers for #1 pick.

I don't think there's any way Ingram falls past #2.

I want Bender. He has highest upside.

If we can trade the pick + wtv it needs to be for the best player on our team. Whoever it is needs to be better than IT.

It's not that cut and dry. If we can flip the pick for Butler, I'm all for it, but hopefully Ainge doesn't give up too much. I trust Ainge to find the right prospect (although some of you don't) and keep building.

Take a swing and take Bender. Why not?

We're now desperately hoping onto the hope that the Sixers may take a non-Simmons non-Ingram player. I feel bad for our collective minds.

You have to swing for the fences in Bender. If they are looking to trade, Jimmy Butler or Derrick Favors

One big problem you have here, Durant is a free agent. Zero point in trading the 3rd pick for a free agent. I've got no talent for the draft so I leave it in the Celtics hands. I just don't want the Celtics making a short sighted move.

I like picking Bender myself, if he hits even a half of his potential he could be a good contemporary pf in the NBA. He's young, fast enough to D up on the perimeter, and lengthy as all hell.

Bender or Dunn. Dunn has superstar athleticism and ability

Another seven footer? Highly unikely. At best, he'd be in Noel's slot. The have to pick a back court player. I wouldnt doubt it if they trade the pick plus another young good player for an established player to help them. They can't keep Okafor and Embiid with the way the NBA is going towards small ball. Everyone is going left and they're thinking like it's the 90's still.

If Ainge uses the #3 pick to get Hield, I'll be very upset. At the very least, he should trade down if he wants Buddy.

Return to Boston Celtics
