I wouldn't sleep on Isaiah Whitehead. He has NBA-level talent.

if you haven't yet, you need to watch "The night of" on HBO, and part 2 of season 2 of Fear the walking dead starts tonight

Nice piece on RealGM about prospects of the Nets trading B. Lopez. Spoiler alert there are close to zero obvious trade destinations.

I've been dead set against trading for him here, but if they whiff in FA next summer, spending a modest asset for Brooke next summer could make sense. He'd be an expiring and hard to believe but so will the line of Nets' picks.

Brooklyn (28.8 wins) projected to have 3rd worst record in NBA, ahead of Sixers and Lakers. That win total seems pretty high.

My first thought is that Kidd had interest in Milwaukee when he was a free agent. Aside from that it seems ''chic'' now to say players like Lopez and Okafor have no spot in the NBA. Imagine Lopez on Golden State in the Finals last year and suddenly the Warriors become better shooters again because of the attention Lopez would need and they win the championship. And that's what you get Lopez or Okafor for - when things change in the playoffs. Portland would be a good fit. Boston would have been a good fit before Horford. It seems that everybody spent their money for now, but it is very easy to get creative with more money coming next year in the salary cap.

Been away for a while, following Patriots and Red Sox as of late.

Changed the thread title, as the preseason is approaching and shortly after the regular season.

Westgate Las Vegas Super book gave the Nets the lowest win total at 20.5 games.

I agree with you 100%. Hopefully Horford can provide us with some of that this season.

Esp GSw last year with those curls off the high point of the key. Have Lopez in the post waiting for one of them. & if not, then he's 1-1 iso.

I understand its not the wave anymore, but having a big man you can say okay, get me a quick 2, goes beyond words. It changes the whole dynamic of your team. Its amazing to me how quickly it went from wanting that guy on your team, to him not having a home in the nba.

Only 3 of the top 20 scorers were bigs. Cousins 4th, Davis 7th, & Lopez 20th. Throw Cousins or Lopez on a somewhat stabilized team, & they'll perform better than expected. I promise that. Good bigs make the game easier.

I agree with you 2mas. I think people have gotten waaaay too caught up in the latest trend in the NBA. Put Cousins or Davis on Cleveland instead of Love and suddenly everybody would be trying to get a big guy to matchup. It wasn't too long ago Bynum / Gasol and Chandler / Dirk were championship winning front courts.
