Bird can take over a game without shooting threes and could dominate a game with his opposite hand lol. Bird doesn't choke in the finals with cute behind the back passes into the audience. I love Curry but he's not beating Bird.

Not yet, obviously.

Certainly has the potential to pass him, and is a near-lock to finish his career as one of the game's greatest players.

To call him a 2nd tier star is unfathomable. Dude is a 2-time MVP and very nearly a 2-time champion, and is leading one of the greatest teams ever right now. Don't be too surprised if he ends up with 4-5 rings and another MVP, which absolutely puts him in a conversation with Larry, if not above him.

Curry was the best player on one of only 2 teams since I've been watching (1979) to win a title without an all time top 50 player - the other being Sheed's Pistons team.

I think you guys are way, way offbase with Curry not being historically elite. He's already had a better career than guys like Pierce, Barkley, Dominique, Kidd, Ewing, Hayes, Barry, McHale, Reed, Unseld, Iverson, Drexler, Cowens, Gervin, Frazier, Thurmond, Shares, Lucas, etc...

The **** out of here with that. I will eat a rock if you can name 50 better basketball players.

Curry is obviously great I don't want to minimize that fact; but he simply cannot take over a game if the shot isn't falling. Placing him above Bird would only count via resume through team accomplishments, remaining healthy enough to amass the stats, but certainly not on simply saying he's a better overall player when both are in their prime side by side. That simply isn't plausible, in my opinion.

Bird could take over a game in every other facet of the game. Curry? Not so much. Plus i hate his corny ass little celebrations after he hits a 3.

Return to Boston Celtics
