Some thoughts.

-- Red obviously did something like this. So it's not forbidden.
-- It could save a fire sale on some asset to clear max cap room.
-- None of us likes the idea of deconsolidation.
-- "What if the guy we want isn't there at 3?" isn't a concern. The trade doesn't have to be consummated until after that is known.
-- Trading down to get a guy who wouldn't work out for us sounds really odd.
-- I don't have any good reconsolidation ideas that would make this make sense -- just wild guesses that each are of very low individual probability.

A trade has not been made. I don't know why people are going at Ainge. If he makes one, we will unquestionably win it and make the Sixers look bad in the process. If not, we're taking Fultz.

One things for sure, people can't pretend that there is another as prospect valued/highly touted as Fultz. We have the number 2 and 3 teams in a bidding war for our pick.
