According to Mark Murphy our Top 4 is Fultz, Ball, Jackson and Tatum. Assuming Ball goes to. Who would you rather pair with Brown for a potentially dominant future wing duo?

It's a shame Tatum didn't have Jackson's athleticism, or Jackson Tatum's offensive polish. Of course, such a player would then be the #1 pick. Can't decide if I prefer dreaming on JJ to learn to shoot or Tatum to be the rare PP34 versatile footwork star without top level athleticism. Right now I lean toward JJ as a high level defender who could really cause some havoc for opposing offenses with Brown.

Talent>character

I go Jackson. Tatum's game is too vanilla for me

Brown at the 2 and J.Jackson at the 3 long term will look really good. Very good defensive players, can improve 3 point shot. 2018 draft can get celtics a really good PG and/or C with Nets + Lakers pick(if conveyed), can then move horford to PF. Gotta give Ainge the benefit of the doubt on this trade tbh.

Tatum's just too slow. Ceiling is too low for a Brooklyn pick. Jackson

Tatum is a SF/PF, Jackson is a SG.

I believe this is important to recognize.

Tatum has 7 inches on Jackson with his standing reach.

For what it's worth, the Draftexpress guys who are tapped into some sources believe Tatum is the guy Boston would target at 3 if they keep the pick.

Brown/Tatum.

Tatum has to bulk up to play the 4, but he's young. he's a great complement to brown actually, who's a hard nosed defender and great athlete but not an elite shot creator that tatum is.

I can't see how Boston keeps both the pick and Brown.

Surely in that case two out of Smart/Bradley/Crowder most go. But for what? If it's in a win now strategy, and there's no reason to believe otherwise, then doesn't make much sense to keep both Brown and a bluechip rookie wing in the roster - in the best case scenario, one of them would be buried as the 4th wing.

Tatum is too weak on the lower body to play the 4 in the NBA. Will take a couple of years for him to be able to play the position (while Jackson is just too slight and small to ever play there except situationally)

This can't be understated. Brown has elite physical profile for a SF, and Issac is a little light in the pants but outside of that has an elite physical profile for a PF.

Issac can provide shot blocking, can switch out on any perimeter player even a PG and be just fine on defense, some rebounding, some 3 point shooting. Issac is a player that fits Ainge's quoted desire of having a guy that can switch on anyone, so does Josh Jackson but most SFs will have an advantage on him wingspan wise. Not so much with a Brown/Issac pairing.

He hasn't shown the potential elite offensive games Jackson or Tatum has shown signs of. But I mean in today's NBA a 3 and D big in the mold of Draymond Green is more valuable.

Tatum is the forward equivalent of Okafor. This isn't college anymore. He will never be a star on either end.

KO can become surplus to needs if we bring Isaac in.

Why is Taytum's ceiling low? I don't get that. If the guy can play, and has skill and footwork, then he can get his shot off.

Tatum/Brown is a better fit, but Jackson/Brown has more potential

I'm somewhat hoping Ball is the pick. These talks with Philly seemed to take off after Jackson going 2nd became a thing.

We need scoring . Taking Jackson for his D only makes sense if you trade crowder . I could see drafting Jackson and then trading crowder and a couple of picks for butler who would give you the scoring you need . Drafting a small forward though does decrease the odds of signing Hayward I think

i agree, i think tatum's ceiling is clearly higher than jackson's. he's got elite scorer potential, but has more holes in his game.

No clue as I don't follow college ball much anymore. So, I'll go with whoever Ainge picks.
