Real GM at the start of the season: "We need a defensive big. Ours our soft. Also, skilled wings are rare, we need a good scoring wing."

Real GM now: "OMG DANNY WHAT IS YOU DOING DRAFT 18 BIGS YOU MORON. STOP DRAFTING SKILLED WINGS"

It would seem we drafted skilled wings with our first two picks. I can even talk myself into Kadeem as a potential mini-Tony Allen and you can never have enough of those. Taking a stab at at least one big out of four picks instead of drafting a non-descript SG seems like it'd be reasonable?

And if addressing that (gaping need) on our team has to wait until the very last of our four picks, this guy's available: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Cameron-Oliver-82860/

Seems like decent fodder for the draft thread.

Do you want to add Bradley, Tatum, Smart (often at the 3!), Rozier (often at the 2) and possibly Hayward to that? And Nader, plus uhm.. Kareem and Bird?

IT (30)/Smart (10)/Rozier (8)
Brown (25)/Smart (15)/Rozier (5)
Hayward(32)/Tatum (10)/Smart (6)
George (32)/Tatum (8)/Yabu (8)
Horford (32)/Zizic (16)

With solid vet min types helping to stabilize the bench. Or Griffin as the 4 and George as the 3 for more size.

Nader and the other late 2nds don't matter. Semi could develop as a nice 3 and d guy.

Well I appreciate that this at least doesn't have Hayward of Jae at the 4 like a lot of them do, but George didn't want to play the 4 in Indy; he's going to do it here with a 205lb rookie backing him up?

Al's basically a PF as it is; we need someone for the Amir Johnson role who is better than Amir Johnson -- but that's a topic for another thread.

That's fair. Oliver isn't that much bigger than Tatum though. Although Tatum said he feels he fits in at the 3, I just get the feeling that the C's want him more at the 4.

Maybe Oliver or another big gets a camp invite. You have to assume Zizic is coming over this year and maybe we sign another stash prospect or Danny just didn't see a big with the defensive stopped potential worth taking.

Count me in the camp of being disappointed we didn't grab Noel for so cheap this season. But I understand the cap implications and hopefully they have people smarter than us considering these things.

Wings are players that don't play big or PG which is basically Crowder, Bradley, Brown, Tatum, Rozier (smart sometimes), if we sign Hayward (possibly Nader and Semi). Bigs likely on our roster soon Horford and Zizic. (Possibly Yasbule). I dont understand how hard this is to understand. Roster is very umbalanced. NBA is changing we need low cost bigs. 2nd round is perfect chance to take a chance on a couple. They dont pan out then fine, they do then you have a steal. Drafting 2 more wings with those spots is an absolute waste. Why not just draft and stash

So Ainge said he flew to Sacramento with Brad and Zarren to see Josh Jackson workout and they cancelled on the Celtics?

Who is Jackson's agent? Is it BJ Armstrong? That's so unprofessional. The Celtics flew cross country.

Man, some of y'all don't understand the difference between guards and forwards. That's okay I guess. Let me just say that there is a difference from an offensive standpoint between a combo guard at 6'4'' who has a lot of offensive ability and that same player at 6'8".

If you think Rozier is a wing, in any scenario, then you're just wrong. Avery is an undersized 2 with the ability to guard certain wings but not all (He struggles with big 2s and 3s). He would be a point guard but he doesn't fit the skills profile. We can go small in spurts, but better to have LeBron than 6'3'' LeBron.

That's messed up. I usually wish nothing but success for these kids but with the out of court issues and this one, you can say I definitely would not be rooting for this kid

Crowder hasn't been trade yet and probably never will because he is "gritty" and GG will probably be back on a one year deal bravuse Ainge liked overpaying 9th men to save them for trades that won't ever happen. You also forgot Jonas who they will bring back for the same reason.

Yes and that is awful. I defended Jackson's decision not to come east for a workout but I was wrong this is weird. Well he got what he wanted I guess. Playing in PHX has worked out so well for guys as of late.
