What direction are we going in?

Post#1 » by GrandTheftRondo » Fri Jun 23, 2017 4:37 am

Is anyone else incredibly underwhelmed by what we've done the last year or so?

There is clearly no direction and we seem to be making it up as we go.

All these rumoured trades, nothing ever happens.

It's like we're just hoarding players for fun.

The goal is to get superstars Danny.

Yeah very disappointed. Winning 50 plus games and getting top NBA prospects possibly 4 years is a disappointing way of building a team.

No direction, except adding more assets while winning more games. What a traveshamockery. Can people really only fathom all out tank or trade everything for vets?

Who knows.

Being in the East it's hard to say as we can get away with this squad, win games and just meander along with no clear direction.

If we were in the West things would be vastly different, we wouldn't be a top 4 seed there.

I wish we had traded the 3, Brown, and Smart for Butler then BK18, LAL18, Avery, and Crowder for Paul George so we'd finally have a direction.

Winning 50 games means nothing. Not like it's been done with a young nucleus.

We're relying on guys that would be far better suited in a win now scenario.

Instead we are in no mans land.

Half the board would be fapping to both of those deals.

They'd really want to hope they're right in their assessment of Tatum too.

The Lakers are looking increasingly unlikely to be bottom 5 in my opinion.

Kings are certainly doing their best to quickly rebuild too.

That pick could end up being useless.

uh... what???

we're one of the youngest teams in the playoffs. there aren't too many guys on our roster who didn't improve from the previous year to this one.

i know it's fun to have an agenda but damn at least keep it remotely connected to reality.

I don't have an agenda at all.

And please, we might have been one of the youngest teams in the league but that isn't saying much when our best players are all 25+.

Guys like Smart, Brown and Rozier aren't exactly future cornerstones.

You are granting the most favorable outcomes to LA and Sacramento—two teams full of young guys who don't know what they're doing—while not granting Boston the same courtesy.

Rebuilding quickly with nothing but young players doesn't happen. Minnesota just ditched two lotto picks because of it. LA has to keep the books clear and may not have the right assets to get George now, which keeps them very bad. The Kings will be working all kinds of young players into the fold through the 2018-19 season. Not just young but raw. Guys like Fox and Giles are years away from impacting wins, no matter how much upside they may have.

disagree about Jaylen, absolutely a cornerstone type player. so is tatum. and IT. horford a great glue guy. bradley and jae great 4th/5th best players. zizic is a wild card but could be a steal.

oh yeah and don't forget we have at least 1 maybe two high picks in 2018, shaping up to be an epic big man draft.

we have so many ways to improve. which is pretty amazing given that we won 53 games.

I hope you know that the Bulls were offering Butler for #3 straight up. No way in hell would I give #3 pick AND Jaylen for Butler. And why the hell would you give up all that for PG when he's going to the Lakers after next year? You only do that trade if he states that he will commit to Boston with a multi year contract.

Thank God you're not the GM, you'd screw our future for several generations

I guess I hope, personally, one like this:

IT/Smart/Rozier
AB/Jaylen
Jae/Jaylen
Griffin/Tatum
Al/Zizic

+maybe two top 5 picks next year

though

IT/Rozier
Jaylen/?
PG/Tatum
Griffin/Thies
Al/Zizic

would be good too!

I love how for some people you have to "pick a direction".

As though Ainge is that reductive and binary.

Okay would you guys wanna be like the nets give away all our assets and future for all stars now , maybe late in their prime or that will eat up all our cap space, and then get screw later on the road, or have our direction now, win with young good vets, and still building a team for the future

IT= all star
Big AL= use to be all star hitting end of his prime
Big FA- all star this year
Brown young upcoming player could be an all star
Tatum young upcoming player could be an all star
2 oversea player that can become all star
Crowder ' Bradley, smart very good role players
And the picks we have now= biggest assets in the league where everyone wanna get and trade their top guys for?

#1 team in the East , eastern conference finalist and people still complaining we have no direction , come on now

Oh yea a top 3 player In this league visit us last year and strongly consider joining us because he saw our direction, who's that top 3 player, it was Kevin Durant, now he choose GSW over us and won a ring but still he at least look at our team and listen to us because he think we are heading into a good direction
Stay Classy my friend
