Good question. Maybe Fox had the only 1pm game this week and in this region we have the Pats. Or Maybe they bought it to tie into the Bucs 4pm game.

Jones is just another qb.
They need much better.
It's going to be a long season to watch.

I'll keep watching out of respect to Belichick's ability to get juice out of pebbles. I hope they'll look 'pretty good' by Thanksgiving. But they've got a LOT of pebbles! Mac -- I'm optimistic about. Give him this year and next. If he looks promising, hopefully they can build around him and start building some playoff success. If he doesn't look worth it by then, Bill retires, at *least* as GM(?) and it's time to rebuild. [doubt Bill would give up one role and not both, but I think his career lasts as long as Mac's tenure in NE does]

Mac is the least of our problems. We have no playmakers on offense, Bourne is the closest thing and he is a castoff. Our running game scares nobody. Our D is better but we still can't cover TEs, and now we lack a shutdown corner. With Mac out for many weeks we're going to see just what bad QBing looks like.

I think Mac is perfectly fine, but he is not TB12. Reminds me of Danny White, a very good QB who had the misfortune of following a legend in Dallas. Mac is a guy you can build around, but he is not singlehandedly going to win you titles. The thing is, even Brady didn't do that in the first few years. We need a much better team around Mac, like Brady had from 2001-2004. Belichick's draft and FA failures have hampered this.

Our defense has been solid. Our skill players aren't that bad. Devante Parker is the only stud WR we have and he is rarely healthy, but our TEs are solid.

I would like to see Zappe get more of a chance. He's got the three C's - confidence, composure, and charisma. He is poised and both teammates and fans are willing to rally around him. He has at least that much in common with a young Brady.

As a second year player and first year starter, Brady was not considered to be someone you would build around, initially it was even assumed that he would be benched as soon as Bledsoe was able to return. Even after winning a Super Bowl he was considered a game manager that needed to be surrounded by talent and a conservative playbook.

I'm not down on Mac but I was a little surprised to begin with that he had been considered a top prospect in his draft class, his play has been fine IMO but not reassuring, and I am not impressed by his poise. Emotion is all good but it is important to channel it.

omg omg omg
Patriots just took their playoff opportunity, turned it into a ball of feces, and smeared it all over themselves, but, like 1000x worse

that play was so bad it could honestly change the trajectories of several NFL careers

So how many more years for Belichick in NE?
As many as he wants, I imagine. I can’t imagine the Krafts doing anything but appeasing him. But it’s looking like three more after this one to catch Shula — and the wheels are wobbling.

the C's might be bad, but at least we are not lateral it to the other team on the final play so they can score the winning touchdown bad.

i don't think i've ever laughed out loud at the ending of a football game before.

The real crime was letting the Raiders score the tying touchdown on a pass play that was terribly defended.

The Cs are not a team that makes inept crosscourt passes?

Pats so trash. Only keeping this on in the second half to see if they panic and put in Zappe. Or Patricia. Have Patricia play QB, he knows a lot of football!

Credit the Pats for making today’s loss interesting and competitive. Set themselves up to need a miracle and almost pulled it off.

When Asiasi caught a ball after Henry hurt himself colliding with Smith it was shaping up to be much more of a clown show game, and instead they got Stephenson in position for a second straight game losing play.

I'm not sold on Mac but I think people are actually underrating how much the coaching staff failed him this year.

He had a good rookie year

He had a good rookie year because they asked him to do so little. His arm will always be a problem, it’s why they’ve struggled so much in the red zone since drafting him. Need to be able to zip the ball, and he doesn’t have that, plus he floats any pass over 20 yards.

Zappe is better than him, and neither should be a starter.

We were 7th in red zone TD% last year, and this year Matt **** Patricia calls the plays. Hunter Henry had NINE touchdowns last year, this year zero. Matty P is a clueless playcaller.

Mac is not reading the field as well this year, his arm is still a problem, but he's 110% being hamstrung by a horrendous playcaller, a terrible offensive line and mediocre WRs. Also, their best WR arguably in Bourne, who doesn't play because Patricia has a massive ego and sucks at his job.

I'm giving Mac year 3 to prove himself before moving on. Patricia goes first, WAY before Mac.

And no, Zappe is not better lol.
