Yep, no brainer on this one. He clearly deserves it. And I agree with him that Tommy should get in for the 3rd time as well.

Gorman back for a final year. Signs of decline have been there last couple of seasons.

Hopefully we get a bunch of home games out of him. They've been doing a graceful transition the past few seasons though. Hope he's in good health.

I love the guy. Best in the business. I'll sure miss him when he's gone.

Is there a post Gorman plan and does it have to include Scal? It would be a good time to get rid of him.

Jeez. It's going to suck not having Mike call games. Legend :(

Mike and Tommy were great calling games together. Mike is great at what he does. Has been doing it for a long time. What a great job to have. He has had a tremendous run. Hope he can call games for one more championship team.

Scal inherited Tommy’s spot in the broadcast. He’s gotten better at the role and is presumably staying.

Sean Grande (who I suspect is Zoya:) covered for Mike a lot last year. Maybe he’ll take over the role full-time after Mike hangs it up? That’d leave the opening at play-by-play on the radio working with Cedric Maxwell if he keeps going.

Great guy & broadcaster

His fave player was guess who?

TRUUUUUUUTH!

Fact
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

Unpopular opinion…On tv at least I like Scal over Grande. Grande seems so conditioned to radio he can’t help but call the games like we can’t see them.

Agreed, but I’d guess the plan might be for them to work together. If so you’d have two smart and invested guys who could probably develop good rapport.

Love Mike to death but it was time. But their succession plan better be Sean Grande, because if Scal is the PBP guy, I'm hitting mute

I'm higher on Scal than a lot of people in here, but I agree he definitely can't be the PBP guy. The games he did with House or whoever else might have been his partner as the color commentary guy didn't work for me at all.

I like him as a sidekick. Nothing more, nothing less. Sometimes some inside info, or some NBA player experience things. I'm fine with that, adds some new layers for me to the game sometimes.

Well, Mike Gorman is as good as it gets.

And I don't understand the Scal distaste. The man is keenly observant, spot on and communicates his thoughts well.

Very unpopular. Scal's fine, but he doesn't hold a candle to Grande. It's not even close.

For radio I agree, but I honestly don’t care for Grande on tv :dontknow:
