If you read my posts they have been consistently pro Derrick White really all of the 2022/23 season and of course this season. I criticized the Celtics not signing him in the offseason and on yesterday's General Board Game Thread I said I would rather have D White running the last play of regulation over Tatum. I say these things because IMO they are true.
By the same token 2021/22 was different. He did not play that well as he shot his career low. In the playoffs he had some nice games, particularly Game 1 against Golden State, but after that game , the last 5 games he shot 12/44. , something that got masked because Tatum bore the brunt of the criticism. So 2021/22? Yeah sure he had nice intangibles and moved the ball, but was relegated to playing 16 minutes in the last Finals game because he wasn't good.
So for me 2021/22 decent -hope he gets back to San Antonio form. 2022/23 excellent. 2023/24 All Star.

Those are good numbers for White but I prefer highly contested threes from Tatum from 28 feet.

It’s crazy, especially when you compare it to everything that led up to getting Holliday, who we thought would be be putting up White’s numbers. I mean you have Neismith leading the league in three point shooting and the GS pick is I believe 11th at the moment. Huge difference in quality assets between the two, not that Im complaining. Its just funny how things have worked out.
