He literally might be the best player in the league right now who's making less than $2 mil this season.

Are we forgetting Neemias Queta?

I will say that his defense is better. He gets hunted all the time, but this year it doesn't work so often. For starters his lateral mobility is much improved.

Bargain is just a completely unnecessary word in that sentence

Dunno about "huge reason" and "game changer" in the premise, but I love having Hauser in the rotation than not.

I know he's called "Big Smooth" and that if we were looking for another nickname something like "Howitzer" is right there, but I want to suggest we start calling Sam "Rain Man" because the arc on that shot is a thing of beauty.

Definitely 3 pointers, 4 for 6, yeah, 4 for 6, 12 points, definitely :)

I am happy to see Sam get on a roll. We saw this last year but I think he has reached a point in career/experience that he should be able to maintain this level of play (40%+ from 3, not 55%) with more consistency. Id really love to see if he can play for 25-30 minutes and keep up his amazing rate of attempts. The fact that he can take and make as many 3s as he does in only 20 min./game is impressive.

He's not gonna get that kind of playing time on a team like this, with the top 6 guys we have in place. He's a wing and we're a team led by 2 star wings who play like 36+ mins a game.

Your 7th man is typically gonna play less than 25 mins a game..more in the 19-20 minute range..

I'm a fan of this guy. The key for Hauser will be if he can be a positive impact player when his 3 is off. That will determine if he's a true rotational piece in the POs or not. I like what I've seen so far.

Since Tatum commonly plays the 4, and Brown can move down to the 2, there are a lot of backup minutes at least theoretically available to Hauser.

But he's competing with guys who are better defenders (he's beating those out right now because of his competent defense and rebounding and great superiority in scoring) or ball handlers (right now he is not beating out Pritchard; they're both playing).

The main subject of that clip aside, Jrue's oscillating head is pretty amazing.

ha! Mike Conley was *not* moving:)

I've since noted Jrue's head on an active swivel in other clips too, including on offense.

Another good game from Sam. Defensively he’s much better on the perimeter than in the post. RoCo early abused him down there and unless I’m remembering it wrong Harris did a little too. His rebounding is fine so that’s the biggest reason I’d just want him as a wing and not as a 4.

Yeah he’s 2/3 not 4.

Wait ‘til late this year or next for White/Holiday with Hauser, Walsh and Tatum.

Celtics paying Hauser at least 6x less in salary. Plus saving however millions in luxury tax payments. For essentially the same job/role. Sam more of a movement shooter while Grant’s primarily a standstill shooter (like Horford).

Well, he played 35 min. last night…..and he didn’t take or make 3s as often. He may not average 25-30 min. a game but he will have many games during season where he will - 3 already in fact. If he can get 8-10 open looks in those games and still make them, that would be a big deal.

A 60% 3 pt shooter at PF is rarer than a SG. However, I think we made out okay replacing Grant/Rob with KP.

Serious question. Can a 7th man be selected for the 3 point shootout?? I mean at this rate Hauser may deserve it.
