with his arc, I can imagine him lofting the next shot while the previous one is still in the air

Needing the last two balls to win the final round, Hauser puts extra arc on second-to-the-last ball so his final two balls swish right after the other. Then the crowd goes wild!

Good value to get a top 20 player from the 2021 draft class as an UDFA.

It's a credit to Sam for working hard since joining the Celtics, and a credit to Brad (and staff) for scouting and seeing something in Hauser to sign him.

I'd love that to be true with respect to point guard skills.

It was kind of a thing to lament the UDFA guys that got away (like the Bol Bol fade, or Strus etc). But Boston has killed it in that department under Brad. Hauser's easily mid-first round value as a player in terms of on-court production at a lower $ cost than that. Kornet has been a great find as an UDFA. Queta is early but possibly trending that way.

We will see where Banton goes (plenty of first rounders miss) but Brad stated he felt Banton was like their first round project for the year.

Really commendable job what they've done in in the UDFA market.

me neither. We traded the pick that became Sengun with Kemba for Horford. Can't remember any connection between that pick and Moritz Wagner.

I assume he is just disagreeing with the redraft order and is saying he would pick Sengun before Wagner.

My work machine is set to block links
Edit: but I’m still Wagner over Sengun, and I might have been one of the few Sengun > Jaylen Green last year lol.

Another side note about these re-drafts, I really do think they would change pretty heavily every 2-3 years.

Oh, they definitely do. Remember the one year where Deron Williams was better than Chris Paul?

That said, Sengun is a beast!!!!!!!!!

Thought experiment: Hauser being coached by Spoelstra.

How does his usage and production look different, if at all?

Well HoFer Ray Allen in 2013-14 could only get 8 three-point attempts per 100 possessions on a team where he was maybe the 4th or 5th best scorer so I would say Hauser gets maybe one shot a game under Spoelstra.

Strus took 10 shots a game last year.

Strus (22-23) vs Hauser this season, Per 100 minutes
FGA - 17.1 v 14.4
3PA - 12.3 v 12.3
Points - 20.1 v 18.4

However Strus was maybe the 4th best scorer player on the team and started almost half his games due to constant injuries. Hauser is at best 6th best scorer on the team and started less than 10% of the games.

All evidence points to Hauser's role greatly diminishing under Spo.
