Instead of saying something nice about our 9 game winning streak and clinching the East they just did a segment about whether the Celtics should blow it up if they fail to win a championship "yet again."

I stopped about a year ago and it's fantastic. ESPN shows are made to get emotional reactions from people for SM engagement and ad revenue, they're no longer even entertainment, let alone review or analysis.

Now it's a National TV game aren't there rules for at least JT and JB playing?

Haven't read yet, but the answer might be found here:

Would be cool if our backcourt is recognized for their defense. I wonder if same team had an All-Defense backcourt pairing before.

Don't watch NBA Today and don't read the General Board, unless you enjoy laughing at stupidity.

I saw a graphic about that the other day. Conley/Allen was the most recent instance. Then you have Payton/McMillan in back to back years for the Sonics in the 90s. Moncrief did it once in the 80s with a Bucks teammate (can't recall who off the top of my head). Van Lier/Sloan remarkably did it three times in a four year stretch in the 70s. So it happens but it's super rare.

Updated odds for round one opponent: Miami 24.2%, Philly 23.4%, Atlanta 21.2%, Chicago 20.2%, Indiana 8.9%.

The Heat, Sixers, Hawks and Bulls all have pretty much the same odds and not much will change unless the Pacers lose a few in a row. I don't think it matters much. If the Celtics can't beat any of these teams they're not getting past much better teams later.

Mark D. of OKC has a strong argument, if you believe that the performance of young players is particularly influenced by coaching.

Still, Joe is getting a hell of a result for having 2 new starters and having 3 of his top 7 players go out the door.

Now if he could just fix late-game offensive execution ...

Mark has a shot if OKC gets the #1 seed.

But if not, Joe gets it.

We'll see.

Last season I was also told that Zion will make All-NBA 2nd team over JB.

I don't know about you guys, but I want Miami in the first round,. It's always fun kicking Philly's ass, should we end up with them, but we really owe Miami a good pounding, and this is the year to do it.

I'd prefer Miami over Philly just because Philly has no business being an 8th seed with Joel Embiid coming back. We should handle both teams in 6 games or less though.

Thing is, almost all the metrics rate the Celtics as a really elite team and in some categories, as a historically great team. But these numbers are against the entire league (including the dregs of the NBA). As you go deeper in the playoffs, Cs are playing the best of the best. And if they want to win the title, they're likely to play someone on their level or even better. These numbers won't mean much then in a 7-game series. And even less in clutch situations where they'll find themselves in more. But kudos to the team for doing all they can to be consistently, objectively great in the regular season. Flaws will be magnified in the playoffs. Weaknesses exposed. Hope we're ready to hide/minimize those when it matters the most. Nothing else to prove here. Let's get the postseason on!

Speaking of historic numbers, Celtics (+8.0) now 4th all-time in relative offensive rating behind the Nash-led 2004 Mavs, Nash-led 2005 Suns, and 73-9 Warriors.

So you want the Celtics to potentially go home in the 1st round? Miami is the one team in the entire playoffs, with maybe Golden State who they should not want to face. Miami can knock them out in 6 or 7 games. No thanks. Let someone else take them out. Don't want any part of Jimmy Butler and his Michael Jordan act.

Philly can't beat the Celtics
