The Celtics haven't had a pure shooter like Hauser since... ??

Our starting 5 is outscoring opponents by 41 points per 100 possessions. Which is good I think.

That's pretty good, but did you hear about how horribly the NBA Refs are treating the Lakers? That's the real story!

So I know we want lots of ball movement and less iso’s and I don’t disagree but just a reality check for a moment; through 9 games; Tatum isos have been extremely effective half court offense. Like absurdly so;

Obviously this doesn’t work that way but the above roughly translates to a 119 ortg if you run nothing but Tatum isos; which would be a top 5 offense

Seriously though, his PPP is only part of the story. The defense overreacts to him going iso, which leads to open looks for other guys ontop of not.

Porzingis is our only other true advantage creator, and we just don’t use him enough when Tatum sits.

Nice to see Grant Williams providing better rim protection than CJ McCollum at least.

I care more about getting the paint touches than I do letting Tatum be iso heavy, but I think you can get both reliably by utilizing him in the elbow triple-threat slot ala Carmelo Anthony and his if not improved, at least higher usage post game.

I think I'd like to start seeing him initiate the post ups a little closer to the basket (only gripe is he gets them started out near the 3pt line) but I don't think isolation is a big issue for this team outside of when they're letting Jaylen over handle the ball.

The bigger concern for me is points in the paint and getting the ball deeper to facilitate the number of threes that they ultimately want to take. That makes it easier compared to one pass, two pass, shoot with five guys out.

I actually like the posting up from the three point line, the defense always panics lol, and the spacing is better.

8-2 with 2 competitive road losses against teams with combined record of 15-3. For a team with a massive roster overhaul, that is a solid start to the season.

The 2023-24 Celtics just entered the chat. They landed 4th on this list, having outscored opponents by 137 points (1196 vs. 1059) in their first 10 games.
