Celtics: Nah, let's let Tatum dribble down the clock for a fadeaway shot lol.
They still lost but what they did is way more logical and had a better chance of success.
I still maintain what Joe does now in that scenario and in playoffs will be different this year. RS he is happy to be a learning and growth exercise for the players as the greater good over individual RS wins.
I wanna believe you. Hope so too. He already let this happen in the playoffs against the Sixers last year.
…I was very upset with his management last year and wanted him gone. But he has on a number of occasions at the start of the year said he got a lot of that wrong on review. You’ll also notice in some of the big games he’s managed things differently, while letting things go in certain other situations.
Timeouts should always be taken and in the Cavs game I was fine with no timeout at first given they wanted to keep Wade and Garland on the court. Joe said afterwards JT should have got into the action earlier and that he eventually tried to call a timeout.
So that game should be good for JT to learn to get into the action quicker (which he should have already known) and for Joe to run right up to the ear of the red and yell timeout a little earlier. But he didn’t approach this like a game he cared a lot about TBH.
