EDIT: I'm out. Only a miracle will help MIN beat DEN today.

The miracle:

Wolves now up 2.

Gallant effort by Sota without their 3 bigs. Doubling Jokic and forcing others to make plays kinda worked. He has 35/16 but only 2 assists.

Wolves coach put on a clinic in end-of-game timeout and clock management. When you're down, you call timeout, set up a quick hitter, and foul.

Celtics: Nah, let's let Tatum dribble down the clock for a fadeaway shot lol.

They still lost but what they did is way more logical and had a better chance of success.

What the Cs will do to the Nuggets in the finals will defy logic.

I still maintain what Joe does now in that scenario and in playoffs will be different this year. RS he is happy to be a learning and growth exercise for the players as the greater good over individual RS wins.

I wanna believe you. Hope so too. He already let this happen in the playoffs against the Sixers last year.

…I was very upset with his management last year and wanted him gone. But he has on a number of occasions at the start of the year said he got a lot of that wrong on review. You’ll also notice in some of the big games he’s managed things differently, while letting things go in certain other situations.

Timeouts should always be taken and in the Cavs game I was fine with no timeout at first given they wanted to keep Wade and Garland on the court. Joe said afterwards JT should have got into the action earlier and that he eventually tried to call a timeout.

So that game should be good for JT to learn to get into the action quicker (which he should have already known) and for Joe to run right up to the ear of the red and yell timeout a little earlier. But he didn’t approach this like a game he cared a lot about TBH.

The Wolves making it a close game against Jokic without a center is pretty impressive.

Yup definitely time to fire up a "Round 1 opponent playoff watch" thread.

I'm actually in the camp of this is the year, no need to weaselly hope for a worse team in the draw. Gimme Embiid, whoever it is in Round 2, then Giannis in ECF.

Hopefully the Heat in Rd 1 to shut up the Can't Beat Spoelstra/Jimmy/Heat Culture crowd.

Not a Lebron fan, but this was more informative than most of basketball podcasts out there. Gives his flowers to JT for a bit. And they reference the 2022 Finals being a battle won with IQ, not necessarily experience while Cs had the more talent.

DeRozan might be suspended after this tackle and elbow. Cs play Bulls next after Pistons tomorrow.

Brandon Ingram suffered a nasty looking knee hyperextension/bone contusion last night. Though break/timing for the Pels. He'll be reevaluated in 2 weeks but seems like he'll be out longer than that.

SGA attempting to score at least 30 on all 29 other teams this season. Only two teams he hasn't scored 30 on this year are Raps and Bucks and the Thunder's next 2 games are Raps and Bucks.

Pretty weird situation with Toronto... they've been legit terrible since trading Siakam and Anunoby and with Barnes getting injured. Maybe the worst team in the league right now.

Which made sense to me as far as tanking/rebuilding.

But I was just talking to a Raps fan he told me they don't even have their 1st round pick this year. So now I'm left scratching my head at why Masai finally ripped the bandaid off and decided to tank in a year with a weak draft where they don't even have their pick.

RealGM has their pick as protected 1-6 until 2026, becomes two 2nds if not conveyed by then. They'd still need a bit of luck in the lottery to keep their 1st this year.
