I thought of this too. Turns out, no two way players can be signed from March 5th to the end of the league year.

Damn.

Agreed. Damn.

Hmm guess that makes sense - ie, what would they actually be doing at this point in the year.

Had a dream Draymond was signing with Boston to ring chase and I was like “I don’t even want him for free” (and I think he has 3/$75 left on his contract anyway) so let me ask: who would we want as vet min ring chasers? I think the new CBA prohibits second apron teams from signing guys — even at the vet min — who had been making more than MLE the year prior?

I think that dream has a deeper meaning. You see a therapist?

Second apron teams can't sign buyout guys who were previously making more than NT-MLE the same season. No restriction on signing free agents to vet minimum following season.

I'd go for wings who can handle/move the ball. Hayward (#UnfinishedBusiness), Batum (surprisingly still has something left in tank), Alec Burks, and Justin Holiday. If Tillman and Kornet are both gone, we likely go after a big. Plumlee or Theis?

Hey man leave the fact that Draymond was holding hands with my mom while everyone in 3rd grade laughed at me out of this!

I like all your suggestions here, except Hayward looked like the true Washed King last I saw him.

Looks like the HEAT are gonna sign/ trade for another All-Star this off-season. Such a fortunate franchise the Heat. They got Giannis, KD, Harden, Dame, and now an unnamed All-Star-On-Same-Timeline-As-Bam-Adebayo.

Luke Garza was a G-League All-Star last season and is only a year younger than Bam. It's probably him.

I was thinking it'd be Ben Simmons but Garza probably fits the Heat Culture better.

My prediction on our free agents:

Kornet:
Kornet will get some looks from other teams, but I expect Brad will resign him.

Mykhailiuk:
I think Svi will walk away, hoping to catch a bigger contract with another team.

Tillman:
Brad didn't trade 2 seconds for Tillman to let him walk. He will be resigned.

Brissett:
Brissett will pick up his player option. He didn't show enough on the offence side for teams to chase him.

Hauser:
Hauser will either get an extension after Brad picks up his option or will replace his option with an extended contract. Hauser will be back.

Queta:
Queta is Kornet insurance and will be extended this offseason.

I know the following are not free agents, but Brad will certainly extend them as soon as they are available.to do so.

White:
I know White is signed for next year, but, as with Holiday, Brad will extend him. There is no way, being over the 2nd apron, that what he does can be replaced.

Tatum and Porzingis will both be extended when they are eligible to be extended.

So, if all this is done then our roster for next season will look like this:

White, Holiday, Brown, Tatum, Porzingis
Pritchard, Springer, Hauser, Horford, Kornet
( ), Walsh, Brissett, Tillman, Queta
with Horford and Holiday, the only ones over 30 years old.

Svi's roster spot may well be open and filled with another point guard (Davison) or another shooting wing. I also expect Brad to trade our first-round pick for as high a 2nd round pick and probably another future 2nd so he doesn't have a guaranteed salary and also can restock the 2-ways for Maine.

Seems most likely to go down something like that with no big changes - my guess is the guy that doesn’t come back is Brissett, that he’ll get replaced by Tillman in the rotation and another wing, be it Walsh or whoever.

Not sure if by trade or if he leaves in FA but he’s my guess.

I could see Tillman getting a larger role with an off-season and camp with us. Could definitely factor into Brissett’s decisions and possibly, but not as likely, Luke’s as well.
