Or they brought him back because they really see the potential in him as a coach and they're not gonna just give up on him after 1 season where we came within 1 game of the NBA finals, had best net rating in the league, 2nd best record in league, Tatum sprained his ankle on the 1st play of game 7, Miami had the luckiest shooting series of all time and Joe had no offseason to prepare for being coach, had to coach with Ime's guys as assistants and the top assistant left to take a college job right before the playoffs so we gotta give him at least one season where he can actually prepare for being the HC and has some assistants that he actually hired?

We don't have time for potential imo. We're supposed to be contending now.

Brad is the answer.

No doubt in my mind, Mazzulla and Brown are both gone if they lose this series.

You would think so.. As far as Brown goes with his contract I think it will be very hard to move him..

That's true. They literally can only do a 1 for 1 swap because they are in the 2nd apron. Hopefully Embiid or Curry demands a trade to Boston. Our only hope

Anyone here who gets frustrated by JB would be begging for him back after that trade.

I just don't get why there are still who believe JB will be traded.

The time to trade JB has passed.

I'm not saying that, depending on what happens it's not out of the question.

However can't see Trae being someone Brad would go for given he can't defend, is from all reports not a great locker room guy and not a winning player.

Now some here would say JB is not a winning player, but he was drafted not traded for and he has moved much closer to a winning player this year than before.

IF he was traded it would only be for a slam dunk or because he asks out IMO.

I think it's only if JB wants out.

There's just no slam dunk deal out there.

Even Giannis would not be ideal because it would make the starting unit unbalanced.

Maybe after 2 seasons and the Cs still have not raised Banner 18 the Cs might explore trading JB.

A 2nd apron team can't aggregate salaries to trade for a player making more salary but there's no restriction on receiving multiple players in a trade.

Also a contender next season.

Contender in 2026.

Contender in 2027.

Contender in 2028.

Contender in 2029.

Contender in 2030.

And maybe a contender in 2031 and 2032.

I dunno. A lot of people are expecting the Cs to come back strong and finish this series in 5, but the Cs went down 0-3 to Spoelstra's Heat just last year. I don't see anything different so far that would lead me to believe the will suddenly dominate the Heat even sans Butler.

It's uber-belief in the Cs bordering on arrogance and lack of respect for what Spo/Heat have done with less talent. Fandom can manifest itself in different shapes and forms -- green teamers, pink hats, debbie downers, pragmatists, doom-and-gloom-sky-is-falling crowd, meltdown mafia, flip-floppers, and bandwagoners. Can we stop calling each other names and just get along?

Having said that, I still think "Celtics in 3!"

Celtics 18th title in 2026!! Finally it's about to happen!

(JB and JT have played 7 years together, barely any offensive chemistry unless it's in transition)
