This should be Joke Mazzulla's job on the line game. To me, if the FO were truly 100% trying to win, they would have let him go last year and got a real coach. By retaining Joke, it seems like they are experimenting with him... during a title contending season.

Or they brought him back because they really see the potential in him as a coach and they're not gonna just give up on him after 1 season where we came within 1 game of the NBA finals, had best net rating in the league, 2nd best record in league, Tatum sprained his ankle on the 1st play of game 7, Miami had the luckiest shooting series of all time and Joe had no offseason to prepare for being coach, had to coach with Ime's guys as assistants and the top assistant left to take a college job right before the playoffs so we gotta give him at least one season where he can actually prepare for being the HC and has some assistants that he actually hired?

We don't have time for potential imo. We're supposed to be contending now.

There's just no slam dunk deal out there.

Even Giannis would not be ideal because it would make the starting unit unbalanced.

A 2nd apron team can't aggregate salaries to trade for a player making more salary but there's no restriction on receiving multiple players in a trade.

I dunno. A lot of people are expecting the Cs to come back strong and finish this series in 5, but the Cs went down 0-3 to Spoelstra's Heat just last year. I don't see anything different so far that would lead me to believe the will suddenly dominate the Heat even sans Butler.
