I mean, nobody expected us to rattle off 3 wins in a row last year in the ECF vs Miami but we did - and that was when MIA had butler (and we had a better roster than we do now, a rookie HC and worse assistant coaches)

Sometimes you just gotta let things play out and not rush to make sweeping conclusions after only 1 or 2 games..

We did not have a better roster last year than we do now.

So much fear of being critical. It’s an 8 seed missing 2/3 of their best players. It’s more than fair to say the Celtics have consistently played down for far more than 1-2 games. This is what they do :noway:

I'm back from my little suspension and ready to see if Joe is conscious for game three.

We'll win this series unless something absurd happens. Which I guess is possible if very unlikely.

But game two was a reminder Joe is still in way over his head and some of our guys still no-show big games in the playoffs. We're better than last year. But faltering out before the finals is a real possibility.

Lose this game and you’ll see meltdown at an all time high.

Need to win these next 2 and Tatum needs to show that he’s a superstar

As well we should. There is no reason on earth the C's should lose game three.

I think Jrue Holiday is a major problem. He's a very bad offensive player unless he's spotting up in the corner. I honestly think Al Horford should replace him in the starting lineup.

Also despite what the stats say, this is a bad defense. I've watched them whiff on pick and rolls all year. They can't stop anyone. Their only hope is to outscore the other team.

Honestly have no idea how the Celtics ranked 2nd in defense all season lol. In clutch games, it’s bad enough the offense is shaky at times but this defense can’t guard a chair in clutch moments either. The defense with Ime was legit and felt like a great defensive team even though they played a stupid ass coverage against the warriors which they still haven’t learned from in this series. This team doesn’t have any idea what to do with pick and roll.

I hope Holiday doesn’t start jacking up shots again when he’s off next game. There should never be a gap in shot taking between holiday and white like there was in game 3 through 3 quarters in favor of Jrue.

Celtics are a bad pick and roll defense when Porzingis is in the game (don't care what regular season stats say, the Heat are abusing KP). More Big Al please.

Totally agree. The Celtics are really poor in clutch offensive situations but even worse in clutch defensive situations. They simply cannot buckle down and get stops when they need to. Any team that has a high pick and roll attack will give the Celtics fits. If they cannot out score Miami they're going to be in trouble.

Also, Derrick White is a far superior player to Jrue Holiday in every conceivable way. We need to move Holiday to the bench and finally give the keys to White. It's long overdue.

Al Horford is really bad in drop coverage as well which is kind of a massive problem. Neither of our bigs can defend the pick and roll action at all. The defensive side of the ball is a major major problem.

1-2 this year would be way worse than 0-3 last year. Considering the circumstances. Don't even think about losing this, Cs. Hoping Joe got a strategy inspiration from his The Town re-watch last night and this morning.

Celtics were an elite screen navigation team in the reg season, but on Wednesday they were dying on every pick. That was a pathetic display by the Jays/Derrick and Jrue. Not everything falls on KP.

Usually happens with Tatum having the ball up top and Heat don't send a second guy. "Go quick" is not in their vocabulary. Too much scanning and standing around. Mismatch iso over and over. Then they collapse once we get into the paint leaving not much time to go into secondary action or even kick out, swing-swing for a three.
