I'm all over the place today but let's see if I can articulate a thought I've been mulling over...

The Celtics are known for taking and making a high volume of 3's. It's been a big part of our success and every team should be prepared for it when playing us.

The Heat are not known for taking and making a high volume of 3's and it's not at the top of the game plan when matching up with them.

So Spo and the Heat came into Game 1 and we made a million 3's and blew them out. Spo and the Heat were not prepared to stop our barrage when the game started and they made no apparent mid-game adjustments to stop it. The Heat lost and no one blamed Spo or said he was a bad coach.

Then last night the Heat took and made a million 3's (actually the best shooting night in Heat playoff history), which was much less predicable than the Celtics doing it in Game 1, and we failed to stop it and they beat us by 10 points. And now Joe is a terrible laughingstock and should be fired.

Hopefully my point is coming across but I'm just thinking maybe this coaching thing is hard and even the best coaches don't always get it right and it's hard to stop opposing teams from shooting lights out from 3 even when you want to.

I will watch... I always do.. But this may be the least enthusiastic I have ever been for a Boston playoff game. That is what this group has done to me..

Let's see if Joe learned his lesson from last year or if this guy is just in fact AI.

Not making in game adjustments in the face of what your doing not working is ALMOST as bad as coming back 3 days later and doing the same thing again.

He thinks the defensive effort of game 2 was good and shots were mostly contested so I doubt he makes the correct adjustments.

Joe will just tell you the Cs won 2 out of 3 games in Miami last year.

It's a math problem.

What I want to see is the Cs trap the ball handler because the Heat don't have a true PG right now.

The two X-factors we added from last year have to play much better than they did in G2. Porzingis was supposed to be able to punish mismatches inside. But he got manhandled and was bothered by Miami's physicality. -32 in a 10-pt loss. Holiday was supposed to be better than Smart on offense. He called his own number way too many times instead of running an actual offensive set, to the tune of 4/12 (1/4 from 3), for 9 pts and 2 assists. Jrue was also nowhere near the defensive menace he was in G1. His "contests" in the 4th were sickening. PP was a non-factor. He's got to get going.

Joe rightfully got bulk of the blame but end of the day, the players have to show up and execute too on both ends regardless of scheme.

Pritchard was hardly a non-factor on defense but not in a good way.

The Celtics lost to the 8th seed last year.

It's a coaching problem.

Agree.

But there's nothing we can do about it right now.

Expecting Joe to become a different coach at this stage of the season is just not happening.

There's now talk that Heat "sacrificed" Game 1, not showing their hand, knowing they wouldn't be able to physically compete after the quick turnaround from the play-in game. That the series started in G2 for them. The bare minimum for them was to get one in Boston then take care of business at home to have Cs against the ropes. They did that.

Let's see how Celtics respond in Game 3. We got to get HCA back immediately and convincingly. If we really are the team we think we are, we should also take Game 4. We're still talking about an 8-seed that sputtered all season and is now without their best player and another starter. There's just zero excuse for this series to extend more than it should.

Not calling for Joe to get fired after one loss. But you have to consider it if we don't advance past R1 and R2.

Maybe the Cs sacrificed Game 2 also.

I mean the Cs loved to piss off Celtic fans during the regular season.

Why stop now, right?

I’m one of the biggest doubters this team has, to me this team is nowhere near as good as most think it is, but even I’d be stunned if they didn’t win this game going away. A game 4 in Miami down 2-1 would be one of the most embarrassing positions this franchise has ever been in.

Having that said..win the **** game.
A new dawn will rise in Boston. ‎#StayLoyal THANK YOU TRUTH!
