Who is the ideal PG for a ball dominant superstar?

Post#1 » by BasketballFan7 » Thu Mar 19, 2015 9:00 pm

Who would be the ideal PG for a ball dominant superstar? As in, LeBron James, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant to a lesser extent, etc. Obviously you are looking for somebody who can shoot the three ball, play defense, and facilitate the offense when the superstar is on the bench.

To me, Chauncey Billups sounds quite nice. John Stockton, from what I have read. However, I know very little basketball in comparison with many posters here. Thoughts?

Billups. What he managed to do off Melo was great.

3 point shooter + defense so that you're making positive contributions without having to control the ball and spacing the floor. Billups fit that mould pretty well, but I'm not sure who the modern equivalent would be. Probably Jrue Holiday is closest.

This is probably a question best not asked on the baseball subforum.

Billups, mookie blaylock, late era Jason Kidd...maybe Walt Frazier or Gary Payton. Defense, spacing, and the ability to create if needed.
