NEXT year predictions?

Post#1 » by MyUniBroDavis » Sat Oct 3, 2015 10:14 pm

How will we do next year?

just gonna post a few things here.

http://www.pelicansreport.com/showthread.php?84877-My-take-on-how-Gentry-will-help-the-offense-Also-an-idea-for-a-new-statistic

http://www.pelicansreport.com/showthread.php?84865-My-take-on-how-Erman-will-help-our-Defense

in training camp, Gordan scored 22 points in the first half.

Erman, our defensive coordinater, has transformed ever defense he has been on.

Also, his specialy is pick and roll defense... our only main weakness

With the celtics, despite having no defensive inside presence at all, the celtics ranked top 10 post all star break.

In games where our pace was 94 and above, we were 11-8

95 and above, we were 7-3

96 and above, we were 5-3

97.5 and above, 5-2

our 8 losses overall were against

houstan, charlotte, chicago, Dallas (when they were good at the start) and the warriors thrice. once in overtime.

we beat okc twice, minnesotta once, golden state once, the nets, houstan, san antonio, including that last game.

Hi MyUniBroDavis, here are a new Pels fan!

How many pels fans are in this forum, a many? :D

I think that without injuries we can be a top seed in the west, may be around 3 to 6 spot. AD this year can be MVP, Gordon can have a great year and Holiday too. I'm intrigued that how Gentry will use Tyreke, is a type of player that not shoot threes, but Alvin says that love Tyreke for his lenght.

We have many type of players, if Gentry can impose an steady defense, we can be one of the best teams in the league.

The pelicans ranked in the upper half of defense last year post all star break.

Asik said they would be top 10 defensively this year.
Davis said they would be top 5.
Cunningham said they would be top 3.

Tyreke will be a pg who will be one of the leading transition players.

the biggest problem with defense last year was how complicated it was. we didnt know whether to hedge, to ice, etc, the pick and roll.

all in all, we had around 15 defensive calls. this was too complicated, and teh confusion in the team lead to the other team getting to the paint too much.

with Erman leading our defense, we now have only around 3 to 5 defensive calls, and our young, athletic players will mainly rely on their instincts.

Gentry's offense + AD's development is going to be nice to watch.
