GREAT DRAFT!!

Post#1 » by BLT » Fri Jun 29, 2012 3:59 am

Anthony Davis- nothing really needs to be said, obviously great pick.

Austin Rivers- Very Happy with this pick, was scared he'd go to Toronto but thank god they reached for Ross instead... Wouldve taken Rivers ahead of Ross and Waiters. I think hell be better in the nba than he was at college. Can create his own shot, i think hell be a better verson than Stephen Curry. Him and Gordon will be a great backcourt. i think the transition to PG might be difficult at 1st but then will become an elite PG.

Darius Miller- THE absolute Best player available when we drafted. Thought hed go in the top few picks of the 2nd round, was surprised he was still available. extremely happy with this pick and think we just might have drafted our 6th man in the 2nd round. Smart player, good shooter. Could see him having a Landry Fields type of role, hopefully before Fields realized he sucked, the early rookie year Fields not the present day 1.

Gordon Rivers Davis- Aminu Vasquez Henry Miller... all under 23.. and 30 million in cap room?!?! the future is so bright were going to need shades.

I must say I agree. Wasn't sure where the heck they'd go at #10 after hearing and reading so many things. And #46 was a bonus. I hope all these guys do well as Hornets.

Anthony Davis and Austin Rivers and a re-signed Eric Gordon? Didn't think that the Hornets would be so watchable this soon after losing CP3

I liked the Hornets draft (as well as the Blazers). I think Rivers will have a better NBA career than college. A shot-blocking big like Davis always is a positive for a team.

Is Rivers going to play PG and Gordan SG, it could work since Rivers is tall enough to defend 2s. Hopefully Rivers will turn out better than Bayless. Marshall is more of a natural PG than Rivers, though.

Not really sure yet. Should be interesting to see what Monty does.

Monty always has the option for a 3 guard lineup to push the pace and improve the scoring. With a defensive big in charge of blocking and rebounding in Davis, the Hornets are looking good.

I hope they re-sign Kaman. I think he is a great person and a reasonable business man, he might give the Hornets a good deal on a contract. Hornets a need a big center to keep Davis fresh throughout the season.

I'll be honest, obviously Davis was a no-brainer and Miller was a steal, but I was none too happy with the Rivers pick. I think 10 was an appropriate place for him to land, so it wasn't a reach, but I don't think he will pan out much better than Bayless, if at all. Didn't like him really at any number. I would have much rather the Hornets done some shrewd managing and as soon as they saw Barnes, Lillard, and Robinson off the board, traded down from 10 and got someone other than Rivers while acquiring some other asset.

Still, not a bad draft day by any means, but don't like Rivers and think management could have been a little more crafty with the cards they were dealt.

They wanted Rivers though. After the draft they said they got the guys they wanted.

Rivers is not a PG. His refusal to pass to the other scoring wings at Duke caused a toxic locker room and was the reason they lost to Lehigh in the opening round of the NCAA tourney.

When you drafted Rivers to be a PG, you basically forced Gordon to go to another team. There is no way he would be happy with Rivers refusing to pass the ball to him night after night.

He was scared that the Pistons were going to pick him, not Toronto. LOL, get your facts straight.
