Hornets Ready to Throw in Towel - Trade Okafor?

Rumor has Hornets ready to give up on the season and possibly blow the team up. Looking to move Okafor for an expiring contract. Who would be next?

I doubt New Orleans would trade Okafor within the division, but Dallas would probably be interested, and they have some young talent to include. Ahmad Nivins and Nick Calathes come to mind. I doubt Dallas has any intentions on moving Rodrigue Beaubois. One of the young pieces can be a filler with Josh Howard who has a team option at the end of the season.

The fact that this rumor came out of Sacramento and not New Orleans probably means the Kings offered Kenny Thomas and the Hornets declined. Maybe if I heard a reliable source out of New Orleans say the Hornets are seriously interested in trading Okafor for expiring contracts than I would put more stock into this rumor.

^That's the same thing I was thinking. Maybe Sacramento assumed New Orleans was throwing in the towel and decided to see what they could possibly get out of their assumption lol.

If the Hornets were to make a deal, I would assume it would be to an Eastern Conference team. The team I have in mind, is the Bucks.
A deal of Okafor for Ridnour/Kurt Thomas doesn't sound bad. Maybe even throw in a protected lottery pick by the Bucks.

Still doesn't do much for the Hornets, what would they do then, start Tyrus at SF where he's not so good and then start Hilton Armstrong? It is in the best interests of New Orleans to keep Okafor unless they are getting a C back as they don't have any starting caliber C's on the roster. The other C's are hardly even backup caliber.

Why trade Okafor so soon? I think you guys already got rid of the reason why Okafur isn't producing. The coach. I think once you guys get an Avery Johnson in there brighter days are ahead.

Why would Okafor for Bargnani help the Hornets in the long run? Yea to fill in some offense right now when the offense has looked bad it might help, but the Hornets offense has not been as bad as their defense. Offensively the Hornets have still been an average team so far, they have just been atrocious on defense.

If that trade was made, who would rebound on the Hornets? Also since when is BC going to trade Bargnani for Emeka Okafor, not happening at all.
