I have heard the Braves may go after him if the Yanks are willing to pay half of his salary.

The Yankees are convinced that Melky is now the CF for this team. And with Giambi's return coming probably next week, there is no room for Damon if Giambi becomes the DH. They can have Giambi at 1st and Damon at DH, but they have been reluctant to put Giambi in the field, and even more so with the way Phillips has been playing,

Personally, I'd like to keep Damon at the top of the order. The Yankees got hot the second Damon looked remotely healthy, and it is no coincidence. He began stealing bases, slapping doubles, going 1st to 3rd, and it made a huge difference for this offense. However, if there is no room for him, then move him and his salary.

If they wouldnt have to give up much,he's be a good pick up for the Cubs.

Damon would be a nice add in the winter and if the Yankees pick up most of his salary. Right now, the move doesn't make sense.

No way. Felix Pie will be our starting CF from 2008 on. If we traded for one, it would be a short rental (i.e. Griffey). I wanted Lofton for this role, but that obviously didn't happen.

I really don't know why anyone would want a 700 OPS LF/DH.
