Guys on the Block from SI (Dunn on the block?)

Post#1 » by sunshinekids99 » Tue Jun 12, 2007 12:16 am

Hey guys I was reading some stuff on SI and Jon Heyman had a couple of possible players traded.

The first major rumor is Adam Dunn. He's a feast or famine type player. But, he's got some serious power. Of course he's also terrible in the field, so he might end up having to be a DH. For whatever reason I've always thought of Dunn as a good fit in Oakland. The problem is contract wise, they might not want to be paying him 13 mil.

Another rumor is Gagne to the Tribe. This seems to make some sense. No reason for the Rangers to pay this guy while they are so bad. So Cleveland gets a very nice pitcher if he can actually stay healty.

Is there anything else out there anybody is hearing?

As a Giants fan, I am at the verge of praying that either Mark Teixeira or Miguel Cabrera truely become available. We have Jonathan Sanchez to mainstay a package but I am just not we sure have enough. Oh how my Giants could use even one bat... :-?

The only way we could net Cabrera would have to involve with Cain or Lincecum...

Basically the same stuff, sk.

I think it will come down to the 2 LA teams because of their systems. Could Stoneman actually trade prospects for Dunn? They could use another bat but the Angels seem reluctant to part with some prospects. Ned Colletti will probably give up Broxton, Billingsley, and Kemp for him, so I think he ends up with the Dodgers.

I think the Dunn would be nice atleast to give some protection to Vlad. Of course your right I can't imagine LAA giving up too many prospects.

I would love the Dodgers to overpay for Dunn like that.

So far the asking price for Dunn is a bit high. From WEEI in Boston it was saying the price was a major league starting pitcher, middle infielder, and a top prosepct.

Craig Hansen for Adam Dunn.

Can Dunn play shortstop?

That's not really saying much.

Hell Craig Counsell hit a homerun off Rangers pitching.
