2011 MLB Draft: Arizona Diamondbacks Targeting Danny Hultzen

Post#1 » by Go76ersGo » Tue May 17, 2011 6:07 am

Bubba Starling will probably be the best player available here, but the two-sport star has a commitment to Nebraska and Scott Boras as his agent. In other words, signability is a major issue.

The Diamondbacks aren't going to risk whiffing on their first round pick like they did last year with Barret Loux, so they'll settle on one of the most MLB-ready players in the draft.

Hultzen (6'3", 200) has three above average pitches and a fastball that can touch 95 mph. He's not as overpowering as Cole, but he has been a big-time performer in college for three years now and knows how to work hitters. He projects as a No. 2 starter.
