Clean up hitter?

Post#1 » by whambamslam » Mon Apr 2, 2007 9:12 pm

Who should be the Clean up hitter this season? I would like to see Conor Jackson in the 4 spot. I don't like Chad Tracy there because he needs to try and hit for average rather than power his Batting Average was down last year and I think it is because he tried to swing for the fences too much.

The guy I want to see in there is Carlos Quentin. I think Tracy would be a good 3 hole hitter good averge lots of doubles with some power. Quentin really has a good strong bat. The problem is he isn't healthy right now. I don't think we have a guy who is a true clean-up hitter (a guy with lots of power) what we do have is 6 or 7 guys who could hit 20 to 30 homers. Which is a good it puts lots of pressure on opposing pitchers in that they don't have an "easy" inning.
