White Sox @ O's (April 21 - 23)
Bergesen in his MLB debut - 5 innings, 3 runs, not too bad.

Really makes you wonder why he didn't make the club in the first place. Hopefully he's here to stay. We have nothing to lose by him being our 5th starter.
Rich Hill also seems to be on the way back. The way I see it, if Hill bounces back, that's not a bad 1-4 there.

Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

The only explanation I can think of is to secure an extra year of organizational control like Wieters. I just can't wait until the Eaton fiasco is finally purged.Rafael122 wrote:Really makes you wonder why he didn't make the club in the first place. Hopefully he's here to stay. How about Lou Montanez getting the recall from AAA and coming through with the big hit. I wouldn't mind the team just cutting it's losses and letting go of Freel. I really hope that this will spawn a permanent Pie/Montanez platoon in LF for the rest of the season. And with Wieters getting an eventual call-up, this lineup could be pretty formidable with only the 8 and 9 holes being filled with light-hitting, yet speedy, players. PLus there is always the eternal hope that Pie will eventually have that break-out like Adam Jones had last July after looking horrible the beginning of the season.

Well, Simon is done for the year after ligament surgery. I guess Eaton stays on until Rich Hill finishes up his rehab assignment.

I am dumbfounded by Eaton performance. I guess he was due for one sometime to get his ERA somewhat respectible. The White Sox announcers were calling him the reincarnation of Greg Maddox last night. On paper, Colon vs. Eaton was a nightmare ... can't believe the O's escaped with a win to win the series and climb back to .500.

The question is, despite years of evidence to the contrary, has Mark Eaton turned a corner? Or is this a classic case that just proves the old adage:
I'm leaning towards the latter.
I'm leaning towards the latter.
