1-0 Philly in the 3rd, Howard lead off solo HR in the 3rd. Braves had a runner on 3b with 2 outs in the 1st and 2nd innings, but couldn't get the runner in.

Gattis 2 run HR to the opposite field to give us the lead. Very, very needed.

Luis Avilan needs to gtfo!!! We were up 5-1 going into the bottom of the 8th and Avilan manages to screw it ALL up in just one inning, down 6-5 now. Half the blame goes to Freddie who didn't yank his @ss after he loaded the bases and gave up the first two runs.

I was coming to post the same. Freddie should never have left him in after he loaded the bases. Kid has zero confidence and you could see it in his face. Just gave a win away. :banghead:

Phillies have their own Avilan and he blew this game for them big time. Bring in Kimbrel in the bottom of 9th and put this one to bed please!

Julio Teheran with a complete game shutout in a 1-0 win!! I remember back when he was one of the top 5 prospects in America and was projected to be a top of the rotation pitcher. Then he had that really bad season and wasn't projected as such the next year. Teheran is gonna be an ace in this league one day.

We managed to get on base, but we only scored one run, and it was just enough to get past Cliff Lee.

No way they should have let Wood try to bunt after the leadoff double in the 8th. That was a bad call. Not just saying that in hindsight. I bet most everyone here was thinking the same thing. Put in someone you know can get down the bunt. The flyout by Jason would have scored a man from 3rd. Once we did not score, you had a feeling the Phillies would score and they did. Killed a really solid outing by Wood. But my hat is off to AJ Burnett. He shut down the Braves today.
