I agree that I wouldn't really trade Heyward for Cespedes. Their really close to each other (Yoenis has better offense, but J-Hey the better glove), but the age difference is what kills it for me.

Now if you can get Cespedes for a decent price I would go after him. Move Heyward to CF and Upton to RF and put him in LF. Then late games defensive switch could be bringing BJ in at CF and moving the others back to their positions. Also lets you use BJ as a pinch runner in late innings to help with that area.

Cespedes should be an option but at what cost?

Hopefully we trade B. J. for Edwin Jackson (Maybe Roger can get him back to his 2012 form with the Nats at least), trade J-Up for minor league prospects and maybe we can get lucky and get the team to add a front of the rotation starter in a deal, extend J-Hey to at least another short term deal. Sign Gregor Blanco as a stop gap for a year or two until Kyle Wren is ready, start Bethancourt at C and move Gattis to LF (unless an AL club blows us away with a deal you can't refuse). It would also be nice to at least try and upgrade 3B. I would also like us to make a run at James Shields.

Blanco CF
Heyward RF
Freeman 1B
Gattis LF
Johnson 3B
Bethancourt C
Simmons SS
La Stella / Gosselin 2B

I know Fredi likes to split up the lefties but other than that it is better than anything we trotted out last season.

Hart is dragging his feet on finding a hitting coach. Yankees ex hitting coach Long is a candidate but other teams want him as well. Hart tried to get his ex Cleveland player Jim Thome to be the hitting coach but he wasn't interested when contacted according to Bowman. Mac and Chipper both had Great things to say about Long.

I didn't realize it was that much over cost for Cespedes in my trade. I wish we could some how keep both J Hey and J Up, but wouldn't is be best to keep J Up's bat behind Freeman's in the lineup?

Hart says no to GM, but yes to President of Baseball Operations.

So I guess the Braves won't be hiring a GM, Hart will also handle that role until they turn it over to John Coppolella in 2017.

Does not surprise me that they are sticking with Hart. Just not sure where he is going to lead us. Guess we will know over the next few months.

I have no problem with Hart either, I believe he wanted to get rid of Fredi, but unfortunately Bobby spoke up about keeping Fredi as manager.

Joe Maddon is available, he stepped down as Rays manager today. I really hate that Bobby opened his mouth and wants Fredi to stay. Nobody wants Fredi to be the manager, except Bobby. :banghead:

Exactly.
Just another blown move by our organization.
The Cubs are apparently the frontrunners at the moment but I would have been curious to know how we stood.

This sucks!!!

On another note.
Our origination seems to lack the ability to say business is business and let go of what they need to let go of.
This is directed more so at keeping Fredi but it's not the first time.

Would Schuerholz fire Hart, if Hart said fu** it and fired Fredi, to hire Maddon??

Hiring Seitzer is good.
I guess we'll see or have to read about the impact he makes.

I think Seitzer is really good at cutting strikeouts.

I am good with Kevin Seitzer as hitting coach. Now, need to see some progress.
