I would hate losing Justin Upton. I have not given up on Heyward, but if we traded him, I'd be OK with it depending on what we got back. BJ can go. I am happy with 1st, SS and Catcher. Need help at 2nd and 3rd. Too many holes to fill, so much will be the same next year. Probably only see a couple moves made.

I am okay with trading anybody on this team.

Freddie Freeman can not produce consistently like he did last year and this year proves that.

Simmons is so lost at the plate that I would definitely throw him in if the Rockies insisted on him in a deal for Tulo.

Even though J Up and J Hey are our best two players when you look at some advanced stats I would trade them also.

The thing is you don't trade any of Freeman, Simmons, J Up, or J Hey unless you are getting franchise changing players back and you don't trade Gattis unless it is a team altering trade.

If we really do start over to set up for a big offseason to move into the new stadium the next few years are going to be sad.

I just read on twitter, that Braves hitting coach Greg Walker informed the front office, that he is stepping down.

The Braves have $27 mill coming off the books, Santana(14 mill), Doumit(3.5 mill), Floyd(4 mill), Laird(1.5 mill), Minor(traded in my post, 3.85 mill).

Sign James Shields to a 3 yr/$51 mill deal(Don't think we'll be able to afford Lester and J Up extension)

Sign Justin Upton to a 4 yr/$66 mill extension($16.5 mill per season)

Re-sign Aaron Harang to a 1 yr/$3 mill deal

Sign Colby Rasmus to a 4 yr/$40 mill deal

Trade BJ Upton

Trade Mike Minor, Tommy La Stella and pitching prospect J.R. Graham(has closer potential) to the Astros for Jose Altuve.

I wonder if the Braves could persuade O's hitting coach Jim Presley to take the same job with the Braves? :dontknow: I remember he was considered a strong candidate before Fredi and the Braves hired Larry Parrish. Presley was Fredi's hitting coach with the Marlins.

I've read around on twitter that the Braves front office wants Fredi to replace his bench coach, Carlos Tosca. If Tosca is replaced, I think Eddie Perez should be promoted to bench coach(he's been the bullpen coach since 2007) and assistant bullpen coach Alan Butts should be promoted to bullpen coach.

Under Fredi the Braves are 48-58 in September, just another reason to fire him

I agree with you, but it's looking more like Bobby's influence will get Fredi another year as Braves manager. If he isn't fired, his seat is definitely hot and IMO he MUST win a playoff series to remain the Braves manager past 2015.

Some of you want an upgrade at 3b, the A's may trade this guy if they have a fire sale.

Wonder what it would take to get him? Probably Gattis +

Not that impressed with Donaldson. He is already 28 and his career numbers are what I am not impressed with. Would not give up much for him.

Definitely would not give up Gattis, C Johnson, and a prospect. Donaldson and Gattis are the same age, both 28. I would rather keep Gattis if that is the best I could get for him.

If I am hellbent on upgrading 3B I would look at Adrian Beltre and Evan Longoria.

Longoria averages 26 HR's and 90 RBI's a season over a 7 year career. That is like adding another Justin with the bat. Not bad. His contract is below and runs through 2022.

http://www.baseballplayersalaries.com/p ... n_Longoria

I would trade BJ, Johnson, and a couple prospects for Longoria. I would think long and hard about BJ,Gattis, and a couple of 3rd base prospects for him also. I would not do it unless they added something else I like though.

Beltre only has next year on his contract. I would trade Johnson and a couple of prospects for Beltre even at this stage. He would be a great clubhouse guy since some question our leadership.

He has averaged 23 HR's and over 80 RBI's a year over 17 years and did not slow much from that pace last year.

This season was just his 3rd in the Majors, in which he hit .255 with 29 HRs 98 RBI with a .342 OBP. Last season he hit .301 with 24 HRs and 93 RBI with a .384 OBP. And you don't like him, not surprising.

The only thing I'm concerned with is 39 errors at 3b in the past 2 seasons. He has a ton of more power than C Jonhson, but commits more errors. Johnson has 20 errors the last 2 seasons, 6 this past season.

But I assume Freddie will help cut down those high error numbers by Donaldson, and as he matures and gains more experience, that will also help.

He is 28 years of age and has not done much. His last 2 years does not give him a proven track record.
