So he goes from being compared to Chipper/Miggy to the true HR King? Couldn't read whole article, not a subscriber.

A ridiculous amount of high praise for a teenager in the low minors:

It's really not fair to anyone to compare him to Aaron. I grew up in Maryland, and I'm a Braves fan still to this day because I idolized Aaron as a kid. (It helped that 2 of his 3 names are 2 of my 3 names.)

Maitan has an insane amount of talent and has seemingly limitless potential but I'd pump the brakes a little bit. I don't see how anything good can come from comparing a 17-year old to one of the 5 best baseball players to ever pick up a bat (in my humble opinion). No matter how good he is at baseball this is still a teenager who isn't even of college age yet, he'll hear these voices and feel this pressure.

As far as Maitan as a prospect goes, I put him in the same camp as Ronald Acuna in that I would kill off any and all trade negotiations where the other GM asks for him in a package (unless it's for Clayton Kershaw or Mike Trout). If he develops well then this kid can lead the Braves to years of ultimate glory.
