5-2 Astros in the 6th. In his last two post season starts, Fried has allowed 9 runs. :banghead:

Looks like we're gonna have to out-slug Houston the rest of the way. And we can do it. Key will be getting runners on base - so the home runs are 3 run blasts vs solo blasts.

If this series goes long enough for Fried to start again, he must figure it out! 11 IP 9 runs allowed in his last two starts.

Agreed. We could use some of those excuse me Ozzie bloops to set up the blasts.

Truist should be rockin tonight!

Damn, Duvall and d'arnaud just can't fail like that with a golden opportunity - not in the WS!

Man, what an ugly game so far. Both pitchers have been bad, but it's 1-0 after 3 and a half. Ian hasn't been able to control any of his off-speed stuff, but he's made pitches when he needed to.

Horrible thinking by Swanson. He knows he has no chance at catching the ball and gets in Rosario's way. It should have been a fairly easy catch for Rosario. That just can't happen at that point in the game.

And another bad play by Swanson - letting d'arnaud's throw go into CF and the runner going to 3rd. That took away Matzek's possibility of throwing his sharp slider, but Matzek's amazing and gets the great Brantley to pop up on 99 MPH gas.

I told you guys we'd have to score a lot to win. :)

Our pitchers gave up 2 hits - one on a pop-up to short LF that should have been caught and one into the shift that would have been an easy grounder to 2nd if not for the shift.

No matter where they win the WS, it'll be a great moment in Braves history, but how great would it be to win the Series in Atlanta - like a tribute to Hank and Phil. I loved Swanson's reaction to Soler's homer - never seen anyone so pumped - and it was an amazing historic shift in the game. And Rosario's catch - I was sure it was a homer off the bat, and not only does he make the catch, he's able to spin so he doesn't hit the wall - and possibly injure himself - picture perfect.

In the first inning, there was so much to be negative about - What was Snit thinking starting a wet behind the ears kid in a WS game? And sure enough, he loaded the bases. And I think it was Smoltz who emphasized "You do not want to bring Wright in with the bases loaded." But Wright was able to limit the damage, and even though he wasn't great, he was effective in eating up enough innings in such a clutch 4.2 innings and save the rest of the bullpen - which was HUGE - and also sets up today.

Agreed on that first inning jam. Wright saved the day. That kid has a lot of movement on his pitches. To walk away with having only given up a run was huge for our confidence no doubt.

Ya that Rosario catch was almost placed exactly placed where the missed catch by Alvarez was right before that when he banged up against the wall. Very clutch play by Rosario. He’s just been lights out the entire postseason.

Anywhere would be great but let’s end it here tonight on Halloween and get that trophy!
